I am just not a huge fan of steel trailers. More $ initially (50-100% more), more upkeep on the finish, and most of all, twice the towing wieght. Buy the next length alum. over your boat size and you'll be sure to have all the bunk you need for an extra $150-200. You'll then have the ability to move the setup fore and aft to get the balance and tounge wieght just right for you and your rig. They tow well, and a half worn scotch brite pad / dish liquid cleans and shines 'em up nice, very quickly. I have a towmaster alum for my 32' Velocity, marketed as 29/31' and the bunks run from under the dash area to a foot behind the transom, and the bow stanchion is mid-way or more back. I would not hesitate to outfit another boat w/an aluminum I-beam trailer. ;)

I'll take a Manning over an eagle any day.
They both build a good trailer but I think Manning is better. And Manning works with you, Eagle has to be done through a rep. I don't mind paying top dollar for top work. I do mind paying extra by quite a few $$$$$ for a name. With Manning you'll get both for a price you'll be happy with. Take your time and do your Home work. Cougarman |
Just a footnote...90% of the alum. I-beam trailers are built from the same alum. stock and assembled the same way. The only real differences in these trailers is the choice of hardware ( most of them adv. they use stainless) and options that you would choose...mags, brakes, ect. and you'll find they pretty much use all the same vended parts, axles, brakes, couplers, jacks, ect.

Myco,Myco,Myco, They are not expensive just a great trailer. You get what you pay for. We have tried other guys to save a buck! Trust me it cost us more in damage and towing agrivation than anything else.

Myco is the best,but if your dropping in salt the Myco will be a big mistake...One stone chip on the paint from the road and your trailer will begin rusting away.They are gorgeous looking though just not practical for salt applications.Keep your suspension torsion (no springs).Loadmaster is right around the corner from me (factory) and that torsion setup with 90wt oil in bearing cap so u can see the bearings with oil splashing all the time is a sweet setup.
