Just found out I need to consider both of these options. 5.7 OMC Cobra. I am told both will probably cost about the same and both will have warranty. Just wondering if anyone knows of an advatage of doing one over the other.

The rebuild typically takes longer. If you're looking for uptime, buy a new complete engine or a remanufactured complete engine. Both will have excellent warranties.
