OSO Impressed me most when ___________!

I couldn't get a staff of my 5 mechanics to tell me why my drive wouldn't trim up while I was on plane, but someone I don't even know on OSO told me the problem.

The guy up in NC that needed help with some type of police citation. A cop on OSO and attorney helped him.

One lucky sole that got to drive Drambuie in Key West (Summer Obsession)

Anybody that get's sick , divorced , can't sleep , hurt or even dies get's more sympathy here on OSO than from anybody in their local town.

I'll shut up now and thanks again Steve & Jeffrey -

PhantomChaos 02-10-2003 03:48 PM

When they accepted me as a member. :D :D :D

mopower 02-10-2003 03:51 PM

Your right Brian , there are some really great people here:cool:

Risk Taker 02-10-2003 03:57 PM

Well said Brian..........:D :D :D . That's worth $ 49.95 a year to me .....:D:D:D

Pure Energy 02-10-2003 04:01 PM

I bet when another topic about paying fees on OSO comes up, you can post a link to this thread to show them why it is worth it.

One lucky sole that got to drive Drambuie in Key West (Summer Obsession)

I'll have to second that statement!!;) ;) :D :D :D

Truthfully, OSO impressed me when they didn't cancel their trip giveaway due to a low (really low, c'mon guys, what's up?) number of entries! A lesser group of individuals would have dropped the whole thing like a hot rock. They didn't. The lived up to their word and provided my wife and I with more than we ever would have expected.
It is worth way more than $49.95 just to do business with someone that keeps their word.:D

Smitty 02-10-2003 04:18 PM

Sometimes I find it very hard to understand some people here who complain about having to spend a couple of bucks to help support something they keep coming back to.

LET'S GET REAL----it's only 49.95 per year---that's only .14 per day or 4.16 per month. I'm sure those same people piss away more money on less impactful things.

This board has had such an impact on not only my knowledge of boating/engines/etc. but has opened doors to some AWESOME friendships I have made along the way.

If you can't afford the membership in my opinion please go to another site and stay there!!!

Thanks to everybody whom I have ever had an exchange with and I look forward to more stuff in the future.

Sorry I just had to tell it like it is:mad:    :D :D :D

I just like the fact that all of us can some together have one thing in common and have so much fun doing it. We are like one big family that is behind each other 110% and to me its well worth the money to pay.

MitchStellin 02-10-2003 04:30 PM

When I got a Driunk Driving ticket and OSO paid my bail and Attorney and I walked!!!

When they accepted my excuse for my bounced check and said "don't worry, we have Norts CC number, he can take up the slack"

When I drove Drambuie on Ice into a Bouy and tore off a Tab. They said "no problem, we can blame SummerObsession for it"

And the final....when Betty Ford started taking OSO addicts for a trial run and found we are really screwed up here.:D

Magicfloat 02-10-2003 04:42 PM

When I'm trying to put a deal together on a $250,000 boat and I see "you have a PM on OSO" and I tell the customer to hold on,I have to check on something, then that is OSO.:) :)

THEJOKER 02-10-2003 04:55 PM

It's the first company to have the area code (305) or (909) that I didn't have to dip into my savings and then screw me !

AND=====>

It brings a smile and generates some bounce back into these old bones to see such a great group of guys/girls dedicated not only to the sport, but dedicated to fellow members of OSO regardless of age, religion, color or political beliefs.
Oh did I mention the deepening of smiles/laughter lines???
Thanks OSO_Thanks everybody

tripps 02-10-2003 05:23 PM

a big thanks

Yes,a very good site for help, knowledge, imfomation, events, and just good people being brought together for one great thing, our boating fun. hey let those guys that dont think a couple of bucks is worthwhile, letem, tell them to go and rack up a couple of big phone bills seeking imfomation, parts,or whatever, and we can do it in a couple of minutes on OSO. I am gonna stick around for a while tripps

Jolley 02-10-2003 06:02 PM

I might Rip now and then......... but, I am PROUD to be in the company of ALL of YOU! I have learned so much from this Site, I guess we all have growing pains, from both the Presenters' and the Voyeurs' (We know who we are) side, but it should all be positive. I didn't mind paying for my upgrade in the forum back last year because it helped progress on the site, When I met Steve (OSO Board) at the Key West races I realized just how much of a business it had become, and that it couldn't be the same as it had been................ Change such as this should never be construed as greed, but, the solidification of of this knowledge base....... I, for one, will always help with some $$$$'s,now, and then, lets just keep it reasonable. I know there is a 'Demograph' here ,so sell it, everyone, tell everybody , boater or not, about OFFSHOREONLY.com I'm always bragging about this place to people....... OK enough said, Thanks, Billy

Ted G 02-10-2003 06:29 PM

I was pretty impressed when I actually won a boat from Active Thunder because of a contest on OSO:D I have been equally impressed by the caliber of people I have met at the different functions and the amount of knowledge shared here. As for the cash idea-here is how I think it works. There are too many sites out there that give free access, trials, prizes, etc. and then whammy you for some amount of cash. This inherently makes people leery when some website starts asking for cash. If it wasn't internet based and we were asked for 49.95 to get into a party-no drinks, just admission to the room, I suspect that 95% of the people here would pony up in a minute-even for just one night.
Aside from that I think successful people are drawn to successful things and OSO definitely fills the bill.

Thanks Jeffrey and Steve for your continued efforts keeping this place the best on the web.

Audiofn 02-10-2003 06:50 PM

I was most impressed with the new format a LONG time ago.

The gatherings of OSO people all over the country. ALWAYS great people.

Waterfoul 02-10-2003 07:28 PM

The best thing about OSO is the new life-long friends I have made. Both locally and nationally (and even a few from outside the USA!!). I can honestly say my life is better due to OSO. I've boated in places I would probably never had considered if it weren't for OSO. LOTO being the first that comes to mind. And I have Wally to thank for that. He talked me into it. Thanks pal.

I LOVE this place.

THRILLSEEKER 02-10-2003 07:51 PM

When I first joined a bout 10 months ago, I didnt really know much about performance boats. I felt kinda dumb hangin around the docks with guys asking me questions about my boat that I didnt have an answer too:rolleyes: but thanks to this site I have learned more about boating in 10mos then most people I know learn in a lifetime on the water.
I have also learned alot more about life in general, not to mention saving thousands of dollars, and I have met a ton of great people in the process.
Thanks OSO

Steve 1 02-10-2003 09:06 PM

Now where else exactly in the Universe can I go to Talk and Listen regarding all aspects of High Performance Boats and Boating? And still have the added benefit of Playtime with the Politically Challenged? Where ? Only here !!

Thanks OSO and hope for an even more exciting Year!
:D :D :D :D

Exactly......pony up......enjoy......or LEAVE. I was a registered member, then a Platinum member, and now an OSO Sponsor. I have "met" many great people on this site, and look forward to finally "meeting" face to face in Miami.

I'm very particular about how I spend my advertising dollars, and I wanted to do what I could to support this GREAT site. If I get business from it....great. If I don't I am comfortable in knowing that I am helping to keep the OSO tidal wave going........:D :D

This place rocks. Unfortunately I have had a very, let's call it...."abnormal life" for a while. Pretty indepth, so I will leave out the juicy details. Point is, OSO has provided me with hours of entertainmentat times when I need to just chill. LEt alone the learing, sharing and meeting of people. I have learned an amazing ammount of things, and have received excellent advice. I found 10-12 people in my hometown that I porbably would not have met. For alot of us it's not jsut a place on the web to visit, it's a sort of home for us to convene.

AS for the $$, it is something I need to do, I just flat have not done it yet, I won't make any excuses. However, I welcome everyone, I think telling people to leave is a bit harsh. However, I understand business and will be paying my $$ in the near future.

Great being here everyone, great place to be. ;)

little princess 02-12-2003 05:51 PM

When everyone here got Uncle Toys to relize that we need a bigger boat. :)

Twin screws 02-12-2003 07:12 PM

Hey Mopower, and other oso'ers BH is one of those good guys you are talking about. It is great to have him here in Ga and in the marine industry. He will do anything to help other people out when they are in need. He climbs up in boats and does the work himself and never complains about it. This is not the place to be saying this but he is truly a great guy. It is difficult to find people in the marine industry in Ga that could give a s... about anything but money. Thanks for ALL of your help Brian.
Robert

OSO helped me but a bike! WOOHOO Love it! Thanks Aqua, who I bought it from, and FlyinBrian, who brought it down in the back of his truck!

YES, we all know your a double contributer, you have stated it several times. you should be proud of yourself. It's generous people like you who will SAVE this site. Cheap people like me who always want things for free have no place being here.

what would advertisers have without members ?? why hurt the people who got you where you are ??, oh I forgot, 50 bucks never hurt anyone...

One of many, many things that impress me about our OSO family.

We broke down in Miami last year (X2times). Doc called and told me to come pick up his truck. I was and still am amazed at the way everyone treats each other like family. We all come to this board everyday and tell of our experiences, get advice for our problems or just talk about the next time we can all get together.

I wouldn't trade OSO for anything!

Thanks for everything guys.

Donnie
