Default OT: My friend crashes plane!!!

Strange news. My former company pilot and friend of mone crashed a twin Cessna around the Taylor Mill area (Cincinatti).
Quite a story. He is a good pilot (he walked away-that's good enough!) and a great guy. I hope all works out well for him. Dealing with the FAA is not always easy.

Pretty wild, that is right across the river from Cincy. I think I even know where that plant is. Glad he is okay.

He is bruised up and perhaps a broken collar bone, but VERY lucky!
Plane not so lucky. He broke it.

The truly ironic thing about this is that his father also flies for me occasionally, an he also crashed and survived. He flew a spray plane into the ground several years ago.
I wonder how many father/son teams have crashed planes THEY were flying and can still sit around the campfire comparing war stories?
I think genetics would, for me, dictate a career change.

Glad your friend's okay...Anytime a person walks away from a plane wreck, is amazing.

Although, you're right....this is a very strange scenario. I don't think I'd fly again and test the limits, but that's me. Odds are stacking up.

I met two guys in Miami that were Cessna test pilots. They said they only fly planes that something is wrong with. I asked them which part of the brain they remove to get someone to take that job.

Glad to hear he made it through.
