I guess that was intended for me..Anyway I have a line of Boats called Cheetahs but not a Cheetah boat company.. Also I never had a problem in "S" Class with Victory as I recall they were like 6 minutes behind in the first race over there..

Fred, you are right. Skater does set the bar pretty high but MTI's and Nor-tech are right there with 'em. i was down in cinnci a few weeks ago working on the Batboats and i had some down time while somthing was drying so i grabbed a flash light and crawled around in the sponsons of Chris' supercat (actually i was taking notes for a future project :D :cool: ). its a full canopy 39. Now being a glass guy myself i can appreciate the work put into building these things. the tabbing and glasswork was impecable. MTI builds one heck of a boat. next time im in FLA i would like to see if i can go through NorTech. i have seen quite a few of them down at the worlds in keywest but would love to see how they are built. very impressive boats to say the least.

I am really hooked on the new Nortech cats. Awsome looking and built boats. Skater would be my second choice if I had money to burn. I just like that Nortech will put a cabin in their boats, and Skater told me in person during a tour that they do not like to put cabins in their boats and will do just about anything to talk their customers out of a cabin.

Water, I agree. Nortech is tops with design and layout. I'll always need some basic cabin to crash in when there are no motels.

i dont know . . call me crazy but if im gonna spend a mil on a boat it better have some creature comforts. Nor-Tech seems to have a pretty good balance when it comes to performance and amenities. yea . . sure you may only go 140 or 150 with all that stuffin your cabin but how often can you really go 170 anyway. yep . . . i'll take the cabin even if its a basic. i just like have'n a place for my stuff :D :D

Quality is in the eye of the buyer, or what the market will expect. All 3 of the co. mentioned above (Skater, MTI, and Nortech) are about as good as it gets, and I'm sure there are a few sleepers out there that are as good or can be built as good but have not gotten the name recognition (Jaguar,Platinum).
They each are in a certain niche, but can compete against each other if need be. The Nortech will be the sexiest, but heaviest, creature comfort cat out there, that does everything that it was intended to do in speed, quality of ride, and comfort in the exotic market place for cats. The MTI to me is going after a portion of Nortech's and Skater's market share, building both plearsure and race models to try and keep their cust. happy, using different materials keeping weight down. It's done a good job and in the looks dept. takes a second place in my book. Skater has been around for a while, improving their products on a yearly basis. For racing, they are the clear choice, but MTI is coming on strong. But..I don't see any changes in molds, or top decks, or major improvements to a design thats been around for years, and why mess with a good thing....cause... you need to change with your market place. Sometimes you need to reinvent yourself to stay on top, be #1, or you possibly might get passed up by a younger, more agressive boat co, even though you might be a year out in sales, don't get caught falling a sleep, the other guys are figuring it out, just my personal take on it.

I'm sure when the wait for a new Skater drops below 2 years Peter will make some changes. I think the wait for a new 36 is even longer.
