TONTO ,The Keys and Crashbox GOD
WOW, just spent four days crewing on TONTO on the FPC Miami to Holiday Isle poker run, it was awesome. All the stories about Robert and Michael Freidman are true, their knowledge of the tiny, totally cool watering holes and how to sneak into them is amazing. Taking a 41 Apache and a 46 Skater into a place where they normally only see small center consoles is quite the experience, then as soon as ya step off the boat you realize everybody BEHIND the bar knows um, thank God cause we just made a hell of a scene! Anyway TONTO is a beautiful example of a serious hotrod Apache and Robert's ability to handle that thing in tight quarters with the wind howling WITHOUT TRANSMISSIONS IS AMAZING ! Our crew included BlondCigChick, her friend from CA Michele, my wife Mary and Jeff W. who took most of the pics I'm gonna try and post.
BTW I also met the famous Cigarette/OSO poster boy Rice Hauler, even with all his notoriety Rob is actually a really nice guy, go figure. :D :D From left to right Jeff W. , Tonto (Robert) , WickedWon (Jim) |

Ya think it was a little tight here at Snapper's ?!?! You should see how Robert gets this thing over the sandbar 300 feet from the dock, it's DAMN EXCITING
More Pictures tomorrow. JD |
Jim
Thank you very much for the complement, it WAS great fun. And it was great fun having you and Mary aboard. You should have gotten a picture of the depth sounder on the way into Snappers, then everyone would know what you're talking about. Just don't tell anyone how many times we bumped the bottom, wouldn't want to ruin my reputation :p BTW, MR.CIG I was on the phone with our fearless leader Mr. Stu Jones making sure we still had dockage since we were coming in "after hours" :p Imagine that, having to find my way to Holiday Isle in the dark. Robert PS, notice the only other boat in that picture is a flats boat :p :p |
Man...how we wanted to go hopping w/ yall on saturday but the wind was pushing so bad on the outer wall that nobody wanted to move and we were buried behind 2 other boats. It was a great trip and it was nice meeting you all!!! Robert... 2 weeks and counting....coming???
|
Robert you suck
Damn Robert it looks like you had a blast. Snappers is definitely one of my favorite bars in The Keys - we had the Cig parked right next to Tonto when we were there. Robert is the damn best tour guide in The Keys - BH

Thanks for sharing the pics!
Im glad to see good people out having fun even if some of us have to stay home and work. Looks like you guys got a little sun and of course wind burn...;) Have a great day. |
Wow! Looks like a great time. Thanks for posting the pics. I'm going to have to pull my boat down there one of these times for a trip like that.
|
Robert, Looks like you all(y'all) had a great time. I'm sorry you couldn't make it to the show because I would have surely taken you up on the offer of a cruise in ONE of the Apaches.
I hope you didn't spoil our Newport Beach girls too much with all that tropical island hopping. A lot different than out our way. Maybe next year, when I put my boat back up for sale, I'll send it down south and make a few runs with you. G |
Whoa...........that is really really really cool. Robert/Anna/Michele......my phone didn't ring once!!!! Did ya all loose my number? :D :D :D :D
|
Michele...........what's up with the "farmers tan" girl? :) :)

Nort
I was on my BEST behavior that weekend and only called the kids that were on the run, late at night, eh BCC. You guyz didn't bust my balls while ya'll were in Miami, so why should I bust yours when I'm in the Keys? Respect. Thanks Nort. Robert |
Russ
If you are the last to get to the dock, you are the first to leave. Remember that. If you want to be able to come and go, you need to know the people around you, so you can get them to help you get out. Sorry ya'll missed it, but I'm sure that ya'll had a great time too. Hey, just look at how much money ya'll saved on fuel :p I'm looking into Savannah, don't think I'm itching to come to town, just got some financial issues right now, buying the new farm for all the Indians. I'll be back through town Mon. to go get the boat at Galen's. I hope that all those bikers don't screw up traffic too bad. Talk to you soon. Robert |

Robert WRONG......the only reason that you didn't receive any calls from us was because I left my cell phone in a cab on the way to Gold Rush the first night! It has nothing to do with repect! :D :D :D p.s. Send me you friggin numbers again! |
And ALL this time I thought you were being nice :p

Tonto
..now that's the way to travel! :D
thanks for the pics.... |
He calls me in the middle of the night but only to talk to his substitute wife....The IceAngel....
I have been with him into these places by boat before and you make sure to have spare water pump impellors because at any given time you could "bump" the bottom. It is very entertaining at times to watch some drunken sailors try to clean out sea strainers or change impellors in various acrobatic acts..... Talk to you soon Tonto |
Post some more pics for us stuck in the great white north !
What a trip ! looks like you guys had toooooo much fun |
Robert, that is the first clear picture of your boat i have seen and it looks great. Someday i'd like to get the indians together and let the feathers fly.:D

Robert, You do your best driving in the dark. I know you really do LOVE driving in the dark.
Gald to see you all had fun. Mark |
MR.CIG
On this trip, I NEVER traveled in the dark. We only had to turn the nav lights one time and that was because the Marine Patrol was right next to us. We were chasing DECLAWED through the back way from Papa Joe's to World Wide (Bloomingdale's). Then when we hit the bay we hauled a$$, then as we turn to go to Holiday Isle (Whale Harbour) the Marine Patrol guy cuts in front of us, I gotta find that short cut, hehehe. Thanks for posting the pics Jim Robert |
COOL STUFF !!!
