Tres has been using their stuff for a long time now, even on the raceboats. We talked to them at the PPI show and they seemed very interested in the marine market.

Fred,

I asked that same question...and from what I can tell is they use an anti-corrosion coating on the internals and terminals and hardware on the back of the gauge are coated...I don't think they use stainless hardware, but don't quote me on that...

Sean

dyno...that's funny stuff(and usually true)...but in my case, I felt that $78 for a Marine tachometer with hour meter built in was CHEAP! Dunno how they plan to price the rest of the line, but I think they'll be very comptitive.

You know ive suspected they were the same thing or close for some time now as well, the big difference is price, but what i have not been able to find out is will the nice colored marine trim rings fit the auto style auto meter gauge? And the other main reason I havent caved in and bought all auto meter is because they say "AUTO METER", and was afraid it would look tacky on a boat, as im always worried what my stuff looks like, what do you guys think, i dont want to look like a cheap ass! but then again what would the marine version say on it? "BOAT METER"???? ha ha,

RW,

I've thought the same thing about the gauges labeled AutoMeter...but like dyno says...the cup cars use them and anyone who knows gauges, knows that AM is quality stuff...not cheap.

That being said, I was told the the AutoMeter marine gauges are labeled AutoMeter "Marine Series" on the gauge

Boy...you'd think I work for the company

mebee i should send 'em my resume...but that would mean I'd have to move to Utah Is there and water in Utah?

If AutoMeter builds them for Livorsi, and AutoMeter will build them for AutoMeter, why would AutoMeter care which ones you buy? Who does Mike have to pay for the gauges? If AutoMeter REALLY wanted to get in the marine market as a brand, maybe they would jack up the price to Mike for Gaffrigs and offer a lower cost solution to consumers as Autometer.
