The "No Wake Zone" also applies to anyone who would like to waterski, tube, or use a wave runner on these bodies of water. I think they just opened up the flood gates (to receive letters) from a whole new group of boaters, not just high performance boaters! Maybe now we will get major support from these people. It's time to get all of the NJ marine industry in on this one, or they will all be going broke!
NJ is going to become like Florida, and we don't even have Manatees!!

Even though I don't live anywhere near NJ, I sent my letter. I hope it helps. It could be me next.

I sent off an email to all the addresses. I got these two responses back today:

"Brian:
I guess you don’t keep up with the latest news. The Speed Limit issue has been dropped!
Roger Brown, Chair, NJBRC"

"Brian:
I’m not sure if I answered you before. However, you are not following our meetings or the news. I withdrew the proposed speed regulation.
Roger, Chair NJBRC"

Hello everyone,

I know that Roger has replied to alot of people stating that "the no wake zone proposals for the enitre Metedeconk & Toms Rivers" was not his plan.

I am very confident in calling the man a LIAR.

I confirmed today from the best source possible that this is what he proposed publicly Wed. and also privately to many other people.

KEEP UP THE BARAGE OF EMAILS AND PHONE CALLS!!!

The good news is that he cannot get this done without a buy off from the State Police. Based on their track record - we know that they will do the right thing and base their decisions on facts and not a couple of winers.

Default 13 More miles of Slow Speed No Wake

The meeting was a unreal. They wanted to catch us off guard.
Brown put in his new resolution for more "slow speed no wake" bouys through out Barnegat bay. From Marker 17 near Curtis Point to the Manasquan inlet all "no speed no wake" barrels including the Metedeconk River and Toms River.
He wanted to pass this with no feedback except we were there to put in our too cents.
He said that he received a number of written complaints about the area that he is proposing the new no wake barrels. He stated that the letters stated that all the boats going by at a high rate of speed is causing damage to there docks and boat.

So the only way combat this is through letters and support for our rights to boat!

Anyone using the Manasquan, Metedeconk, Toms River and portions of the Barnegat Bay better get ready to lobby!!! The commission has decided to blanket all these areas as SLOW SPEED NO WAKE ZONES!!! This is exactly the opposite of what they stated in the their meeting in January. They dropped the proposed Speed Limit idea only to turn around and try to make everything a Slow Speed No Wake Zone!!!

I have created a SPEED UPDATE page on my site to keep everyone informed. If this is the first you heard of the Speed Limit proposal, be sure to click onto the archives to see what has been happening.

Please spread the word to everyone this will effect: Marina and Restuarant owners at the end of these rivers, Fishing boats, Performance boats, Jet Skis, WaveRunners, Waterskiers, etc.
If this goes through, then it will only expand to other areas in the state.
Thank you for your support.
