95 31ss 502's and blackhawks.
Are the blackhawks a faster drive? and what is the price difference between them and bravos? What about parts availability for the blackhawks?

Hi Mark, those drives were discontinued after only 1 or 2 years from merc. They were suposed to be the greatest thing but uctualy realy FLOPPED !! They are very slow ! They have cavitation problems at higher speeds . 2 props on each drive turn oposite directions . They work pretty good on slower speed , heavy cruisers but not ment for a GO FAST !!
As far as price , parts and /or swapping out for bravos , I don't know . JOE

thanks joe.
also....has anyone ever dealt with Bruce Bullock Marine?
Or live in the area who could give me a real opinion on this boat? The pictures on the website are terrible, and they said that they were the only pictures they have.

The Blackhawks have some positives. They run best as a surface piercing drive, with a high X dim. Because of the limited run, Prop availibity is very slim, and if you can find them, youll be paying $$$ for them, so forget about any serious prop tuning. They need to have a hull with some rocker to create bow lift. Im not that familiar with a sonic hull, but it doesnt look like a big rocker hull. Yeah, it sounds like you'd have to add the price of a couple of Bravos to the price of this one.
