New Arneson Bravo conversion!!
Arneson now makes a drive to take the place of a bravo style drive. It will handle around 750hp all day. I just ordered a set for my new Spectre 36 being built with a pair of 750's. This should take care of broken drives! arneson-industries.com

I have looked at that setup for a while, It looks like a great package. Post some pictures when you can. If I may ask How much did they charge you for the package? (Please PM me if possible)
I think around $15,000 per drive but includes the drives, boxes, tranny, helm, steering, trim pumps etc. It is a complete package. I will post pics as the boat is being rigged in a month or so. They also save about 20hp over a bravo drive.

They use the BAM cyborg trannies, so the hp loss is minimal. Rik is great to talk to and quick responding to emails even on the weekends and nights.
You are correct about the trannies, they will also shift in and out of gear very smooth. No more clunk clunk into gear!
Is the trany mointed in the box then? Or do you have to move the engine forward?
The tranny can be in the box but in my case the engines are about 18" forward for the cg anyway so I will install the tranny in the boat on this one.

How can you add a trans and use 20hp less than a B1? A B1 uses between 15 and 30 hp depending on engine according to Merc specs. The front pump for the trans will easily use that much hp to build enough pressure to maintain main line pressure high enough to keep the clutches from slipping in high horsepower applications.

Looks like a slick set up. The web site says that with a modified trans it will use less hp than a b1. I wonder in what way the trans is modified?
Looks like it also must use a speedmaster style prop, right?
