I have inflatables for both myself and my daughter. They are much more compfortable, especially on hot days, so actually get worn (mine that is, daughter was ALWAYS made to wear hers even with the hot full jacket). I bought hers first to help out on the hot days, and then decided it was stupid not to have and wear one myself. It's nice knowing that in an emergency I could just jump over to help her (lanyards will kill the engine).

For running fast/rough (relative in my boat LOL) I also have a 100 mph impact rated jacket I wear instead.

I think the combination of compfortable cruising vest and high performance jacket gives the best mix of options.

Default Check for recall by Coast Guard

Coast Guard reports that SOSpenders Corporation is recalling approximately 7,200 automatic inflatable personal flotation devices. Approximately 300 defective Hammer units in one lot were loaded incorrectly and will not inflate the vest.

The "pfds" have the brand name SOSpenders. The affected units can be identified by a Yellow hammar MA 1 Manual/Automatic Inflator Cap.

If you find that your unit might be in question, you can contact SOSpenders customer service at 1-800-858-5876 8:00AM - 5 PM Monday through Friday

Anyone check out any wakeboarding/ski neoprone life jackets? 100$ for non cg approved, (throw in a 5$ type II i think under a seat to be legal) it feels like wearing a shirt.

Hyper neoprene is hot as hell..... I wish it wasn't but that why they make wet suits out of it. I'm leaning twards a set of 100 mph impact jackets from Bass pro!
