that's more than I'am looking at turn key, No Discipline needs at least 125K in power to do it justice, I'am sure it's nicer and newer but 140k more ?

Blonde Cig Chick 03-25-2003 07:58 PM

Have you ridden in No Dicipline recently? It does triple digits already. Why would it need $125k in power and to make it do what? I think the difference is in the engines he's got in it (repowered with Sterlings I thought) and the drives. I thought he has #5's on it. That's a big difference from XR's.

Then again, what do I know.........just a girl afterall;)

Best of luck with the new package! I would think anyone would be fortunate to have it.

BLee 03-25-2003 08:08 PM

5's are a good drive for sure. But they are kinda the oddball. It's just why go with 5's and not just go ahead and get 6's? The money isn't that different when your goin big. And the #6 is a far better drive obviously. Doesn't matter if your a girl or not if you have knowledge thats relevant to the discussion!:D

LapseofReason 03-25-2003 08:12 PM

It is listed no power or drives witch means 0 mph, to get it to 100+ with twins it will need 1000hp+ and 6's that will cost 125+ I know 6's are a lot better than xr's but the higher the hp the more work the motors need. If it had power in it for 299 it would already be on my lift behind my house. If they changed what they had please give me the # but the last I saw that was the deal.

You seem to know more than most even if you are a girl.

BLee 03-25-2003 08:16 PM

You'll be fine with the XR's.........

LapseofReason 03-25-2003 08:20 PM

I'am not worried about them with only 700 hp. I was just looking for more info on the 47 in general.

A different friend of mine just got back from test driving the new 42 GTX. He was going to buy "The Joker."

Those are bad a$$ but I need a cabin.

BLee 03-25-2003 08:37 PM

Yeah I know what you mean. I wish he would've gotten it. He has a 42 Fountain with staggered 1200 Cobra's he was going to trade. But he said the GTX only went 105, and they said it would do 118. His Fountain was faster so he kept it.

LapseofReason 03-25-2003 08:41 PM

What power is in it? they say the 47 I am looking at is 103-105

BLee 03-25-2003 08:45 PM

Sterling 750's. The day before they took a regular 42 with 1050 Sterlings, he said it would RUN.

LapseofReason 03-25-2003 08:47 PM

they get up and go for how big they are.

outer42 03-26-2003 10:31 AM

that 42 gtx will run more than 105,my 37 with 750 ran 104.who was driving it and trimming it. powrerboat tested the first one witn mercury 900 in it and it ran 117 at miami last year.

BLee 03-26-2003 11:57 AM

That is what I thought too. He had heard the same thing. For some reason though, it didn't do it that evening. Fiore was driving. He called afterward and was shocked. Something had to have been messed up I thought, but after the ride he said they didn't say anything. Thats one bad ass lookin rig though.

Blonde Cig Chick 03-26-2003 12:43 PM

The last I knew, the Joker Boat had Merc 900's in it. They went to Sterling as well for M. Diannabelle (sp?) to do a "little magic" on. The boat is in fact capable of the speeds claimed. We ran next to him in the New York City poker run in a 42 Outerlimits with 1025 Sterlings. We were doing 112 and he passed us just after the Tapanzee Bridge. From what I know there is a reason for the difference in speed now, but maybe it has already been remedied. That I don't know. That boat is absolutely beautiful. The GTX's are now being made with a cabin.

As for No Dicipline, I am told that the price includes the drives, but Typhoon can tell you more. The owner had wanted to keep his 850 Sterlings out of it though.

So, did you do the 47' yet or not? We're waiting to hear. :)

LapseofReason 03-26-2003 12:53 PM

No we are still pushing paper back and forth, but I'll post if and when I sign on the line.

Well it makes in a little better with drives but still a bit of a reach for me to put big power in it, and #5's would be a waste for anything under 800hp.

BLee 03-26-2003 01:33 PM

The Joker does have the 900's. The 42 GTX he rode in had the 750's. Sorry, I re-read my post and it was kinda confusing. I don't care if it ran 75, it's the best looking "Poker Run," paint that I think I've seen.

otis311 03-26-2003 01:40 PM

Lapse,

What do you have to get for your 42 ??

LapseofReason 03-26-2003 01:47 PM

are you talking trade in or staight out

robsunlimited 03-26-2003 08:05 PM

THERE WHERE NO 42GTX'S BUILT WITH 750HP MOTORS, SO WHAT BOAT WAS HE ON AND WHEN DID THIS TEST RIDE TAKE PLACE??

THE JOKER BOAT RUNS 123MPH ON GPS WITH 900SC'S THAT STERLING DID A TOP-END FRESHENUP TO.

THERE WERE ONLY 4 42GTX'S BUILT AND THEY RAN FROM 123--148MPH.

AndyOL 03-26-2003 08:21 PM

And don't forget that ANY Outerlimits you by will always hold it's value as long as it has been taken care of.

LapseofReason 03-26-2003 08:48 PM

Thats also one of the reasons I want it, my Sonic is a great boat but it in a down hill run for resale she's 3 now and not getting any newer.

I really don't know. He did the test drive about 1 month ago (I think). I wasn't there so I don't know how the boat ran. He did go though, a few others I know went with him. I think Outer limits builds a fine machine.
