Poker Run prize, Apache 21?
Just got the info on the Wylands 2003 Poker Run in Destin,Fl,June 13-14, we will be there.Brochure says 1st place prize is a 2003 Apache Hawk,21'boat with 250 hp Merc OB,value $37,500. What's up with that?Thought the 21 was a Scout.

Regardless of who built it it should be the George Linder 21' Challenger hull, the best 21' vee ever produced and popped by many. I'll be there to try to win it.

Let me guess 1976 model, used at Merc dealer congress in 1976 to introduce the brand new Merc Black Max V-6 175. They had 2 of them there, when I ran it I wanted one,but as a Hammond dealer I knew Bob Hammond had bought a 21' running surface from George, so I had them as Hammonds. This has to to be the most copied 21 vee of all time, heard today it is going back into production with George updating it a little. Great news, but as far as another boat my Switzer Shooting Star will take up most of my time for a while.

Mustard yellow sounds right. The Velocity test boats Merc uses now around Sanibell Island, Fl are still that yellow color. They leave out every morning about 8, run back and forth all day, tough job.
