guys, if you are interested in spending some time at LOTO, randy's price sounds very reasonable. he could easily get $225/night.

randy- which places are you shopping at?

Scuba Steve 03-25-2003 04:55 PM

Man....that is cheap! Somebody should jump on a deal like this.

Holy Smokes 03-25-2003 05:00 PM

I'll take the weekend of the Shootout, please.

Just kidding, or maybe not if you're not using it then??
Seriously though that sounds like a pretty good deal. I'll keep your number. What size of slip? If I get Black Thunder to trade me a new 46 for the Baja straight up, I'll need a place to keep it.

What road off of 54 to get to it?

Wild 03-25-2003 07:52 PM

I am looking at 3 different ones- anywhere from 24-32' boat slip, but if you are just visiting you can usually just tie up to the dock.

We will use it any weekends that it is not rented out, so for now all weekends are open. Holidays will rent out for a little more, probably $175 with a 4 night minimum.

I can let you know more after this weekend. I just want a place to go when I want to get away, I am not trying to get rich off this deal, so take care of the place and the prices will stay down. I will post pics, size etc.

Buy the biggest slip you can, trust me on this, it makes it much easier to rent.

Gordo 03-26-2003 10:26 AM

Randy,
You've got my attention. Let me know what milemarker you end up at. Sounds like something I may be interested a few times a year.

jawbreakerkid 03-26-2003 10:31 AM

i'd make sure to collect a damage deposit when gordo rents it! ;) he likes to play with fires....:D

Gordo 03-26-2003 10:48 AM

True, but I got the hose to handle it...

SummerObsession 03-26-2003 10:51 AM

Agreed!! One that will handle as least a 35 ft Formula
Or a 35 Cigarette!

I would perhaps be interested as well. I have my accomodations line up for the week of the 4th of July, but I am still looking for a place the following week.
Let me know the details when you can. Thanks.

Hey JBK: Do you know of any slips that can be rented short term (ie, the week of the fourth) around the 4 mile marker? Thanks.

Wild 03-26-2003 11:06 AM

Summer,

W-Point marina has some slips for rent, they are on the 3 mile

SummerObsession 03-26-2003 04:08 PM

OK, I'll check that out. Thanks

BattleCry 03-26-2003 04:14 PM

I could be interested. But I really need to know the location. What road and mile marker.

I have narrowed down the search,

Which would be better 17mm 12x32 slip with a 10,000lb hoist (that will easily hold a 35 cig or 38 fountain) or 1mm 10x32 slip no hoist.

Where would you guys rather be, I like to drive alot, so I will not mind being at the 1mm. On the other hand, at night I like to idle and stay close to home.

Just wondering, I will post pics of which on I get.

market properties in the 17-23MM seem to sell very quickly. if you are looking at the resale side of it, the accessibility and proximety to downtown is a selling point. i have found that a lot of people with smaller boats do not want something far away from everything. it is just too rough of a ride with small children or older adults. they would rather pay a little more and stay closer to the action.

good luck,
chad

17 mm for sure. I'd be interested in renting at the 17mm, but would pass on the 1mm. Indian Point??????

mpally 03-28-2003 05:34 PM

If you are planning on renting the condo out, I think the lift could be a problem. If the lift is not set up correctly, the person renting the condo will not be able to use the lift anyway. Also, it is hard on the docks to leave the lift down all the time.

Wild 03-30-2003 02:51 PM

Closing on it this week,

Indian Pointe, it is a little older of a unit, but the inside is updated very nicely.

2 bed 2 bath with a pull out couch (sleeps 6 total)
like new 12x32 slip concrete pad not wood (still negotiating on the hoist)
pics will follow.

175 per night

1/2 mile off of 54 behind Big Thunders road store.
Close to resturants and mall by land, and close to everthing by water.

Master bedroom has floor to wall windows, I will not do to much to it this year, but during the winter months I will put down ceramic tile, new carpet and some paint.

If anyone would like to rent it out, email me

or call 314-420-2619

First come first serve

Is it waterfront or 2nd tier? Very nice. Plus, you can't beat the interest rates right now.

Wild 03-30-2003 05:52 PM

it is second tier, but a staight shot from car to condo to pool to dock.

I am really happy with it, we had a condo at Summer Haven (3mm) 2 years ago,

Now I need a boat, until I get a boat, it is up for rent.
