Nice boat DIAMOND! Is it still white (I like white boats w/ just the logos). Get that thing ready so we can see it on the lake!!

I own a small 24foot 1979 excalubur project that I am also almost done with. waiting for warm weather to paint it and finish motor work. For a small boat I love it, best 24 foot rough water boat I've been on.
This is the only digital pic. I have

TxHawk 03-26-2003 03:25 PM

Well it looks like they are going to want some of my money before i can look at your pictures. Sean, the boat hasnt been in the water yet. I really dont know what its going to do. Previously it was powered with 425HP's and TRS(65mph). We have rebuilt the transom in order to raise the X-diminsions and may be running some shortened drives, if not the XR's. I would love to see a 15-20mph increase considering the weight loss and more efficient drives. Also gaining nearly 500HP. I love this board so i will definatly keep you posted.

WHITE-DIAMONDS 03-26-2003 04:59 PM

Come on.....pay the 20 bucks and lets see this boat!! It will be the best 20 bucks you have ever spent!

Hey nice avitar!!

Sorry, i hadnt seen that emblem in a long time. I still have the mirror and original dash that has that engraved in it. I registered today so tomorrow ill post.

WD- where do you boat?

bermudaboy 03-26-2003 05:32 PM

I have a 1979 24' and a 1984 Wellcraft Excalibur 27'. Still trying to decide what to do with the 24. Looks like a 500hp and a Pulse drive in the future(this summer). The 27 is just out of storage and on it's way to the island SOON.

Cheers,

Andy

99% of the time I go to Grand Lake in N.E. Oklahoma and usually once or twice a season I go down to Texoma or Lewisville. I have only had the boat in the water four times, bought it the very end of last season. Can't wait to get it in the water again!!

Just Say N2O 03-26-2003 05:39 PM

Fred, Where are you? Here's a perfect chance to talk about your 40 footer.

Payton 03-26-2003 07:09 PM

Cashbrain also has an Excalabur.

Haven't seen it yet though.

Waterfoul 03-26-2003 07:23 PM

fred from this board has a 40 Excaliber Hawk. He got it last spring. I have personally driven this boat. I think (don't quote me) it's got 400 hp Cyclones in it and TRS drives (I'm sure of the drives). I got 58 out of it on Lake Michigan with me, fred, his two daughters, and more than half tank of fuel, and kinda made Fred mad as his best speed to that point had been 56 mph. Fred's boat has an arch and a HUGE sun pad over the engines. Even has A/C. Rides like a dream.

Oh, and it has the wood floor (teak??). Kinda cool.

fred 03-26-2003 07:57 PM

Here I am....I have a 1985 Wellcraft Excalibur Hawk 40....it's actually stamped a 1984 although Wellcraft say's they only made it in 85, anyway as Waterfoul said it has 454/400 hp Cyclones in it with TRS drives and the best I have got out of it since Foul drove it is 60 on Gps, it still has the original rear-riser with 3" outlet thru-hull exhaust on it which I'm changing to center-riser with 4" thru-hull this season (in the next couple of weeks) The engines have been gone thru and have RPM intakes and 750 Demon carbs on them...it is a real tank and as Mike said it "Rides like a dream", anyway I'll get a pic posted tomorrow from work (don't have any here now)....we love the thing and stayed 30+ nights on it last season....which was the first season I had it...I still have lots of clean-up to do on it and am working on it as time allows....Fred

TxHawk 03-26-2003 08:11 PM

I would love to see the pics. Between our little clan, we have 3 Hawk 40's. Ours is Stamped 1982, another 1984, and im not sure of the 3rds build year. Two are at Texoma and one in Sarasota. When i was at The Shootout i saw another solid white 40', anyone know who that is? When the Wellcraft Excalibur and the Excalibur excalibur are set next to each other there is quit a bit of difference. Ours sits about 2 inches lower in the water and when you hit the sides of it one flexes a lot more than the other. Anyway. Fred i would love to see those pictures and as soon as i get 15 posts ill post plenty. Ours had the rainbow paint job and was called Satisfaction. It is now solid white.

TxHawk 03-26-2003 08:15 PM

If you copy and paste the pics are now in my sig.

fred 03-26-2003 08:18 PM

The guy I got mine from said it has the Kevlar optioned hull....I am not sure if it really does or not but I know there are areas you can see the light thru the hull in areas.....Fred

fred 03-27-2003 05:52 AM

Got to figure out how to make pic smaller.....won't except it the way it is?????

I have a 1984 Excalibur 31 (Not Wellcraft). It's got the notched transom and pad bottom. With worked 330s and TRS drives (and Merc transmissions) I can eek out 70 GPS with 25 mirages at 5100 RPM. With my 26 bravo1s I get 67 turning 4600 RPM.
It looks good now, but next winter I'm repainting the deck and windshield, and redoing the dash changing all the gages.
The paint scheme will never be updated!

Engines before I start on them...

Sean 03-27-2003 11:17 AM

the guy who built my engines has a 40 Excalibur Hawk built out of kevlar also...He just put a pair of 622" motors in it and is running #3 drives. I rode with him las November when he put th motors in and that boat rides like a tank. The boat ran mid to high 70s on radar wen we ran it, but it ran out of prop.

fred 03-27-2003 01:32 PM

I had 9 people in mine and it still ran 58....best with 3 was 60....Fred

I too have seen that boat - it's gorgeous. He had it up for sale on E-bay about 7 weeks ago - he didn't get his reserve price so I think he still has it.
