I've wanted to build on of these for several years now. The one that I desire will be smaller than a 5L and won't be used for racing. I'd sure like to hook up with somebody that won't mind chatting over some the options and can give me some pointers. Any of you guys know some?

Last I heard it was in W. Virginia behind a barn. I have perimmsion to go pick it up for nothing, and may.
There is one just like it in the Finger Lakes restored, and is now worth over 30G!

I wonder if any of the old lauterbach hulls (like Fantasy) are still around. Cant beat that 25 ply 1/2" plywood for strength but they sure would blow to smitherines when you hit a beer can at 100 mph

Rob,
My dad used to race against Jimmy. I am sure you remember Hydrophobia GP 115? It was always fun to see them head to head. Do you remember the heat with just the two of them at Detroit deck to deck before we lost a blower belt?

There are Lauterbachs around. They show up at the Annual Antique Boat show here and put on a good show along with other oldies. They also have them at the 1000 Island Antique Boat Races. They do not run there every year.
