I was figuring this was another thread about a Labrador or a Bull Terrier. I love dogs, have always had a dog, but they aren't (I repeat, aren't) children. I love boats, too, but they ain't children either.
Congratulations. I've got 2 kids and I'd sell or abandon everything I own or have ever owned (including the dog) for their happiness or welfare.
Treasure your time with her while she is young. Treasure even her indignant fits about what she wants to wear to school when she is 12. Let her know you love her unconditionally and try your best to be there for her whenever she needs you, whether she is sad or scared from watching a scary movie that you told her she'd better not watch.
