Good point. This is not something the Marine Police want to do. The are being forced to do it. The guys in blue have proven that the are a friend of the performance boaters and racers in our area and should be treated with respect at all times.

PLEASE don't give them a hard time for doing their job.

Like someone said, we (they) did it to ourselves. I don't boat much in your area of NJ, why? Because it's a zoo with a lot of uncaged a$$holes running around. And frankly I find if rather unsettling to be in the same area of these people. It's a bunch of the fast guys want to be fast and obnoxious only in the congested areas where there are a lot of people to see them. Your area definitely has more than it's share of showoffs. There are plenty of places to run the boats, they are offshore boats so get out of the river and bay and run offshore.
I support all the efforts of the high performance people in your area only because I don't want to see the regulations spread to our neck of the woods.

On the other side of the coin is the fact that you can go faster quietly . How , you say Simple , you don't attract as much attention to yourself.
Right Troutly? I'll bet your ears perk up like a cat when it heres a bird any time you hear something winding up going down the road
This may be a little far fetched , but you could go by someones dock @ 80 mph quietly and they wouldn't even look up from the TV. Of course by the time they did look up you'd be gone. Whereas you idle by with t / 900sc's and open exhaust and people will be outside shaking their fists at you

True, but not everyone wants a Turbine...
We have a Turbine here and at some meetings it was his boat they were saying was making all the noise and was racing down the bay at 200 mph. I had to laugh... These people just don't know what they are watching. That boat can sneak up on you at 150-200 mph and you would never even know it. All you see is alot of water flying... and hear nothing....

I watched a turbine cat on The Chesapeake last year near Turkey Point light house. I saw his roostertail before I could see the boat . If this guy wasn't doing 100 mph , he wasn't doing nuthin . Couldn't hear a rumble of BB's , couldn't hear the whine of OB's. He was going through rather heavy traffic rather scarily(such a word?), anyway , if you were on the beach with your back to the water you'da never noticed
Wasn't till about a week later I heard of a turbine cat in the area and then figured out why I couldn't hear it .

To All Interested Parties:

This note will advise that the location has changed for the July meeting of the NJ Boat Regulation Commission scheduled for Wednesday, July 9, 2003 at 10:00 am.

The meeting will take place in Sea Girt at the NJ Militia Museum meeting room, located on the grounds of the NJ State Police Training Academy.

I have not seen an agenda for the meeting, but understand that there will be presentations to the Commission on powerboat noise control and on the placement of "slow/no wake" buoys in certain areas of Barnegat Bay. The Commission will continue its review of NJSA 12:7, the State's Marine Laws, and review comments received on proposed amendments to NJAC 13:61 et.seq., the administrative regulations governing boating in New Jersey.

Please give this notice of change in location the widest possible distribution.
