These are stills out of a video. The last few hours of one of the last runs in November. A buddy was cruising along at about 25mph in his Donzi as I came up to pass him. I knew there was a videocamera pointed at me and decided to let the boat stay loose.
The wake didnīt look that big, so with no tabs, level trim and 75 mph on the GPS I cut his wake about 40 feet right of him.......and flew, and flew and flew some more.
As my eyes and those of my passenger, returned to their sockets and our jaws closed, my 25 Outlaw did a perfect landing that was one of the smoothest Iīve experienced. I wasnīt in control up there, but the Baja hull looked after us. I planted the throttle to straighten things up and we continued. looking like it was meant to be like that! I knew I had been lucky.
A great video, and Iīm a little wiser for the experience, too!
We were both wearing automatic PFDs, as always and the lanyard was hooked in.
