A record number of manatee deaths goes hand in hand with the fact that we have record numbers of manatees now. When my dad was younger they hardly ever saw a manatee around here. Now they're all over the place.

Sharkey's right. If you're on plane, you have less of the boat in the water. The point is not saving manatees. The point is taking over what used to be a great recreational state.

Also, the speed limits when you finally get out of the manatee zones are 25mph in the channel and idle only outside of the channel. This makes no sense as the manatee travel in the deeper water of the channel. If the point is protecting the manatee the channel should be idle only and you should be able to go as fast as you want outside.

There all *******s and control freaks. If a mysterious disease killed all of the manatees tomorow they would find another way to phuck with us.

I have a friend who wants to put up a cell tower on his dads farm land out in the middle of nowhere. A lady actually showed up at the PDRB hearing to testify that these towers kill birds. One of the board members asked her if she ever saw a dead bird next to one of these towers and she said no. He said me either and made a motion to approve the tower. I wish I could have seen her face.

what a country we live in.you can be a snipper and kill 13 people and probably only get life.but speed through a manatee zone you get a 25000.00 fine and the electric chair.by the way, what does manatee taste like? the more you eat the better off we will be!!!!

Doesn't an oil spill require the launch of the Evironmental Emergency Response Team?

Just read that there are more offshore performance style boats sold in Ohio now than in Florida! "Now just why do you think that is, Tim?" Obviously our court system does not work as a check & balance system for legislative system run amok as intended. Sign me "Dismayed and Disgusted"
