Need help with map for LOTO.

K all. Need someone to post a pic of a map of LOTO with some arrows on it showing a few locations. I need to reference in my wee little mind where I am staying the weekend of Memorial Day.

I need to see something showing the locations for PC, Shooters, Backwater Jacks, and Horny Toad. These are all places that will help me understand where it is that I am staying.

Sorry for the stupidity.

Thanks,

Buck

I know this wont help much, but our first time at loto, day one the map we had blew out of the boat, so this is what we used. yes we were smart enough to take a picture before we lost it.

if you can accept BIG files i can e-mail it to you and as long as you can zoom in it will give you a lot of info.

buck183 05-10-2003 08:21 AM

Big files are not a problem.

Thanks!

i got a really good rand mcnally map from my local bookstore couple years ago.... has all the restaurants, bars, hotels marked on the map...

mpally 05-10-2003 11:56 AM

If you can wait till you get to LOTO, stop in at any big gas station and they will have maps. Most of the popular spots are usually on there.

Von Bongo 05-10-2003 02:56 PM

Wal-mart on 54 has them also, that is where I get them for friends

PhantomChaos 05-10-2003 03:12 PM

Take a crap.....take a picture.....you got a map. :D :D Just kidding!

buck183 05-10-2003 05:38 PM

yxbert...got the email thanks, that helps.

Von Bongo/mpally/Chromecat...I'll look on my way in Friday night. We're kinda pressed for time that evening so I won't have too much time to look around for one. That does help though.

Nort...wouldn't have expected anything else my friend. :0 I see you have brought all the other Havasu/LOTO threads back to life. Get a little bored today?

Buck

MissAmy 05-10-2003 11:58 PM

Hey Buck! Hope to see you down there again this year.

I still have the CD you made for me last year too! :-)

buck183 05-11-2003 12:04 AM

I was beginning to wonder where the hell you guys went!

We'll be there with bells on. I'll see if I can't whip up a couple more CDs too.

Buck

MissAmy 05-11-2003 12:12 AM

You da man! Too bad we don't have the pole anymore, but I still gotta have the music, right?!

Where you stayin'?

buck183 05-11-2003 09:15 AM

I think the name of the place is Sunset Beach resort. We are trying to cut back a little to make it affordable, so we didn't go with Lazy Days. I think it's in the same cove as Backwater Jack's?

Anyway, we are planning on spending most of our time with the OSO crew this year. Dinners and all. If someone doesn't start a thread with cell phone #s in the next few days I will.

Buck

MissAmy 05-11-2003 10:44 AM

Sounds good Buck, that's a great location. We know some people that have stayed there in the past...actually Troutly and gang...and it worked out great for them.

We're kind of playing things by ear since we don't have a boat, but I hope we'll get to hook up with you guys somewhere down there. Hopefully when a new thread gets started with more details we can plan better.

Hey here is a good page to print off before you go to the lake check it out gas prices on the lake.

The Conoco on the south side of 54 has 93 octane and pretty good access and the new station just west of Country lights USA on the north side of 54 has 93 also.

Waterfoul 05-11-2003 06:33 PM

Buck, just follow me and Audiofn around for the weekend. We WILL be the life of the party, so being right behind us will ensure you end up in the right place!!!!

If you're staying in the same cove as BWJ's, turn right to get to Horny Toad, go across the lake to get to shooters, and turn left to go to Party Cove. That's about all you really need to know!!!!!

LOL...That's pretty much my plan anyway WF. :D I just don't want to get lost going to Horny Toad when we get there Friday night. It will be about 10 or so before we even get on the water. After that, the daylight navigation I'm not worried about. After all, you'll be leading!

Buck

Griff 05-11-2003 11:14 PM

Buck, if you're in BWJ's cove then its 10 miles to the Toad. As far as night time landmarks:

The Toll Bridge is about 15mm
Four Seasons Marina is about 11mm
Ozark BBQ is at the 10mm and on the opposite side of the lake
Horsehoe Bend(basically a big U-turn on the lake) is about the 7-8mm.
Horny Toad is at the 6.5mm on your right

If you see a big concrete wall with flashing lights in front of you, you went too far and are at Bagnell Dam:D

LutzParty 05-12-2003 07:10 AM

Buck
No worries, I am an excellent navigator of LOTO having been a lake rat for a few decades. Call if your lost or stop by we are at the 11 mm on the way to Horney Toad from where you will be coming.

buck183 05-12-2003 08:12 AM

Looks like I picked the right bunch of drunks to hang with for the weekend. Thanks again all. Between what I know, what has been posted, and the help I'm sure I'll get when I'm there, I don't forsee any problems getting around.

Buck

jawbreakerkid 05-12-2003 08:17 AM

there is quite a bit of damage at LOTO from the storms that went through last weekend. there was quarter to tennis ball size hail reported around the 19-21MM. homeowners should check your roof, siding and docks for damage.

Well, there will be some boating, some drinking, some more boating.......then some more boating and drinking......chick watching/chasing....and hopefully chick catching!!!!!! Oh, and we will be giving away a LOT of beads!!!!!! And we will be eating a LOT of food and probably doing some dancing and such..... and a run up to Big Dicks, probably on Friday morning for lunch.

Sound like fun? If so, your in!!!

283CHECK 05-12-2003 04:49 PM

Buck-
If you are staying at sunset beach resort, you can stand on their gas dock and throw a rock and hit BWJ!! It is a nice clean place(last time we stayed), but if you are running a 29 scarab(you are aren't you?) then you won't be able to put in there.. Dump in at the state park!! You can store your trailer there but don't think you can make the turn to the ramp..

We won't be making the mem. weekend, wife is six months pregnant and we lost a garage and out building and sustained damage to the house in the storms a week ago.. So we'll be cleaning a bummin..

Have fun

Chris

LutzParty 05-12-2003 04:54 PM

WOW Chris, I thought about you guys when those storms hit and figured you were to far North. Im sorry to hear of the damage but am glad to hear of your other GOOD news. Congrats on the baby.

283CHECK 05-12-2003 05:04 PM

Thank Kevin- I thought we was too far south, so I guess if you take your thinking and my thinking put it wright on  Thanks for the congrats, we are excited and tryin to figure out what we do next, she's due end of july and was in the process of remodeling the baby's room...now we are on a hold pattern.

buck183 05-12-2003 06:02 PM

283Check,

Thanks for the heads up.

We are running a 26' Scarab. They did indicate when I made the reservation that I would have to put in at the State Park. They didn't make it out to that big of a deal though.

Buck

MissAmy 05-12-2003 07:25 PM

Chris and Cyndy - Congratulations!!!! (We'll miss you though)

Wider area than that, I am at the 28mm and my F-250 has dents. Can't tell on the roof yet and forgot to check the dock tonight, but coworker 2 miles away have damage to their dock.

Drove to Jeff city today and wind damage up by Eldon and heard there was quite a bit of wind at 4 seasons.

LMAO

Yup thats a good description of it.

I believe that the BWJ cove will begin it's no wake status on that Friday. I wish I could make the Big Dicks run Friday but I will be working. Nikki will be down that night late and will be around all weekend and KatDrvr may be joining us.

BigDaddy96 05-12-2003 11:31 PM

Kim and I can't make it either...Can you believe one of my best friends would schedule his wedding over Mem Day weekend?:(
AND we have to drive all the way to Great Bend KS to be in it?!?

You all have fun and be careful!

Hey Lutz - clean out your PM's!

Griff 05-13-2003 01:28 AM

So Griff's gonna be able to go boating on a holiday weekend with the fellas?
I feel bad for you man!:D ;)

tanned fat looks better 05-13-2003 10:11 AM

Hey Gaspipe.............Great Bend is a fun little town. If you get a chance go to Charlie's Bar it kicks *ss, and the owner is smokin' hot. If you get there look on the left side of the bar up on top and let me know if there still is a Shawnee Fire dept. tag there.

Griff, you need a FF boat whore for a day? If I whore with enough people I won't need to bring my boat, it might be sold by then and I am looking for a new ride now.

Partycove 05-13-2003 02:41 PM

To bad

I am not going to make it Friday. But I will see all of you in the Cove Sat and Sun! 11 more day's!!!!

Griff 05-13-2003 05:17 PM

TFLB, I'd prefer a DD boat whore for a day:D :D

As long as I've got room, you're more than welcome too.
Just got to see if Cord's and Foul's boats are done before I can give you a 100% commitment, though.

Steve_H 05-13-2003 06:02 PM
