Anyone see a scam here or a disadvantage of buying this version from the company??

Its the OEM verion. You would normally get this preinstalled in a Dell or something. I will probably work but you can register it so you can't get updates or support.

Full retail is around 475.00.
If you're a student you can pick it up for around 275.00.
I agree with Ron P, it was part of someone's bundled software.
