Is this a permanent thing? Who are they roped off for? I just got done telling a friend how great it is to launch at San Pedro and hammer over to the Yard House for lunch and cruise around the area. I guess we’ll be taking our business and $$$ somewhere else!

Yes, it is sad...it all comes down to economics fellows!!!! The city wants to fill those slips up with tennants and make some coin. They have been planning this for over a year now!!! They told Steele at the Yardhouse of their intentions and gave him first choice if he wanted to rent the slips for his customers. That would not have made any sense to do for a few weekend boaters like ourselves. I am sure they get around $8 a foot for a sliip...figure out a 30 foot boat with 16 slips and that comes out to close to $4000 a month for the city...bottom line is that we are dead meat!!!! On to Catalina, Huntington or I really like the Phantom's idea of the Cannery!!!!! 650 feet away from the slip!!!

Sounds like something I want and sounds like something the Phantom needs for his old broken down SLOWTECH!!!! Is that generator fixed yet!!! Those mood lights working???

Dman-

Even in that 650 feet, your ineffecient dead-head sled would use 10 gallons of gas......and Jeffrey might run out still. I'll be waiting for you two to show up....(you towing him) while I'm eating lunch!

I am going to continue to weep in my beer for the Yardhouse . . . . basically a 'stadium' environment for the ego . . . the Big Boats coming in, rattling the windows. . . lots of spectacular spectators . . . good restaurants and drinking . . . only a very brief and pleasant wake zone . . . the Yardhouse WILL be missed. . . . . Next installment: The Alternatives. . . . Marina Pacifica . . . Peters Landing . . . etc. - Wake Zones are the major challenge in Orange County's jetty harbors.
