Jr not sure what you are talking about by the pixels? Are you talking dish or Cable? As far as picture quality with dish as long as you have a picture you have the best it can be. The only reason you want a strong signal is when the bad weather rolls in. If you have a stronger signal when the weather comes you will be less likely to loose picture. Most of the systems that I have installed people say they drop less then cable.

TNN= 325 on Direct TV
