I guess it's in St Pete - funny as hell we were watching my Freeze Frame in camera and you blew to the inside of the turn - we laughed our ass off! At the inspection trailer in Daytona they did have us as official 3rd - just ribbing ya dude - it's not even my boat - Brian

You talkin about the first lap??? We went around turn 4. it was hairy but we made it. There was a bit of confusion there. We thought it was turn 5.

Mel:

I had the same problem in Daytona 2001. The boat arrived late and was only able to put the #6 but no time for "P4", still they score all the laps for a bright blue batboat and I placed second. The next day I learned that I was DQ and no points were awarded after I almost broke my back racing hard in that race that was so rough that they stop the race before it was over.
Finally in Sarasota I spoke to Allweiss and Mike T. and told them to at least give me last placed points oppose to zero points and that was the best deal I was able to get.
Good luck

P.S. Mel call me at my office today 239-262-3898

Fever Mike not to pick a fight but if they are going to DQ some one on a rule don't you think the inspectors should check those things? Why let someone go out race there butts off break equipment then they come up with we couldn"t read your numbers. Come on, boat racing isn"t rocket science but thats getting pretty lame. Maybe the scorer needs an eye check? Maybe someone has a grudge whatever it is it's not right. Pete

I also think they should say something BEFORE the race. It would suck to go out and tear your stuff up and not even be counted, it just doesn't make sense to bring up the numbers after the fact. Don't the boats get inspected before the race?

THEY DID SAY SOMETING TO EVERYONE AT THE DRIVERS MEETING! The last rule book I saw said 18" numbers, I can tell you the Mels numbers are probably 12" tall.

Why wouldn't an inspector while he is inspecting the boat stick his finger on the number and say "you can't race with these numbers"?
