I raced a couple with twin 2.4's back in the 80's....... in offshore races (gasp!)......... and they ran in the low 80's back then..... 70's with a fuel load and "designated victim"....... I drove and throttled ...so some poor soul had to hang on and pray. I remember one started crying in a race in the lower bay of Manhattan....... Of course I immediately slowed down ...... NOT! Another time a separate victim laughed the whole way through a race..... I thought he was fine until I realised he was still laughing hysterically..... an hour after the race ended. He may still be laughing today........ T2x;) |

Joey:
Here's a couple more things to increase your general boating knowledge......... This is called a tunnel hull....early model. Only one guy drove it, throttled it and turned it......... engines rarely ripped off in turns...but they back flipped a lot....oh and by the way...... It will make a uturn and be gone while your Donzi is approaching the entrance buoy....and it has...no steps. |

This is a later model...... It will do all of the above.... but a lot faster........ and not tend to back flip as much.

Puder, I think I can safely say, when T2x referenced the JJ boat as “This is what Greatness looks like” I think he is commenting on the crew, Mark Lavin, and his Brother Chris, more then the boat. These two guys were the epitome of “Great”. Anyone who knew Mark, and Chris couldn’t help but realize that their determination, drive, and will to win set them apart from everyone else. BTW I think the Skaterfest you attended, was the one that Chris Lavin, and his son Sammy were at , I thought you might have met him? Oh, and BTW you are right, T2x is the picture of humility.:D :D

he he, i was just pokin some fun at our "obsolite" friend.

Air Packer, I am at 78.1 on the GPS with more to come, yes it is slow compared to the river rocket, but it is a hell of a lot of fun in the sloppy water. Here is a picture of the dash just as I was finishing up the boat. If the tires show up for the trailer this week I will have it at goodmans on Sat.
Too Old........Affordable?, since when have boats been affordable? and thanks for the comments on the Challenger, it was a fun winter project........and it is for sale. RT |

Rob, I was lookin around Lake Muskoka for ya on Sunday, wanted to check out your dock speed indicator multiplification factor ;), Just kidding. I might see ya at goodmans but I am NOT bringing my cat back to that lake,3 minute boat rides end to end just aren't worth that dam road and horrific ramp . I will prolly be back on Muskoka the following weekend running around the lakes with my pal Phil in his new daytona 25. Keep an eye out just north of the newark for it.
