I thought the car spun out and crashed into a rock wall.

Cord,
from what little I can remember , RJ was taking a editor from Hot Rod for a blast and got a little loose and I think he just touched the rocks. I don't remember how much damage though. I don't think i would like to be riding shotgun for that one ! |
I remember that write up in HOT ROD about this car... I LOVE the 69' body style.... its my dream car.. I will have one some day. I think I still have that mag somewhere....

Of course, how does one "get a little loose" and "just touch the rocks"? Especially at 200! That's like the Challenger radioing back with a "technical difficulty". |
Cord,
:D I see what you mean BUT the car wasn't totaled and both people were unhurt. That is an accomplishment at 200 |
I saw that video of the Silver State Classic- a Ferrari TR went wonky at 180+. The driver was killed instatnly- I think his wife was in the car too. There was an in-car camera in another TR, which had video of a stream of black smoke rising from somewhere off the main drag.
I think Lingenfelter (sp?) had something to do with the Camaro engine, not sure. And it seems it had a 540. Oh yeah, that is also one of my favorite American cars. A very clean and well-balanced body style. They look real good with fat rubber under those wheel wells. The first car I drove on the street was an SS-396 that had some enhancements, and I remember it ran in the low 11's. All that with no three stage rear wing, fart can tailpipe, or atwwood bilge blower/supercharger- Go figure? Bulldog aka Ronnie:doggy: |
