If these guys are going to let us drive their boats, I think a they deserve a little rough water action in return. A little testing with the hydro guys along for the ride

The C Stock racing motors are a little over 30hp, but the hydros can hit about 70mph.......which is a lot different when your nose is 2 feet from the water....compared to an offshore ride it will probably seem like 140-150 mph.
With identically powered stock motors passing is almost impossible unless someone in front of you makes a mistake........the horsepower to cross another boat's wake just isn't there.
The Key to racing Stock Outboards: a good start along side the other boats & guts enough to hold the power on in the turns.
One thing I guarantee: everyone who tries it will love it! Here is the photo op of the race: the smiles on the new drivers' faces when they come back to the pits the first time! Make sure you don't miss that! You might want to point this out to the TV camera guys.......they'll think you are a genius!
