2nd half of SOTW fogged out.
Bummer. There were some AWSOME boats there. The 50 Nortech Cat "Extreme Exhibit" with 4 Sterlings gets my vote for most radical!! What a boat.

We left waterfoul's company at about 5:30pm had to get back to Holland (truck and trailer there)
took more than an hour to get to the ramp. had to keep it just on plane with tabs down at 22mph. could not see a thing!!!! would be out there still if not for my gps and waypoint list. my eyes are so tired from straining to see any oncoming boats pop out from nowhere. actually didn' t see any boats till the holland channel, hmmmm wonder why????????? first legs of the run were awesome though. loved hearing them come from miles away as we drifted, waiting silently. first a faint rumble "what was that.........." then a couple roosts visible , then the chopper sounds then HERE THEY ARE, ON THE LEFT, ON THE RIGHT, LOOK AT THIS ONE, LOOK AT THAT ONE!!! what a rush!!!! then seeing them up close during lunch is great. talking to the owners and crews. Randy Ssism of MTI was extremely approachable, talking about the MTI they had there and the other one that was planning to make a kilo run. seemed to enjoy answering my questions. I appreciated that can't wait for next year |

it really was disappointing it was called off,but was a great call with the weather the way it was.Stayed to help jim with extreme exhibit so we left about a half hour after the start.Got about a mile south and the gremlin struck jim again. We blasted south lake was very calm but could not see all the time.Did not stop at first card stop, was worried the pack would be going north as we went south.Started passing boats on way to holland they would come out of know where, Lucky we could follow there wakes. Then blasted back to grand haven was hard to see pier Lucky for GPS.It was great to meet jolley and wicked won so all was not lost still a great day.Dragen ass was there to keep everyone entertained!!! All in all a great time with a lot of nice boats and great people. Tom

Awesome weekend TONS O FUN, had a blast meeting everyone from the board, and putting faces with names...... Gotta do this more often. We have great video of our ride on TOMCAT, that was very generous Tom, thank you (perma-grin still in place). We had an opportunity to ride out to the start with Foul and friends, thanks Mike. OSO was there, good to see ya again Steve. But most of all , the kids from Make a Wish had the best time, thanks to Bob Luellen, and Marc Blondin the co producers of SMOKE ON THE WATER. Great time had by all.................:D :D :D :D :D
