Now this is really rumor starting, but I heard from a VERY reliable source within Apache that the owners of Apache may be buying Cigarette. If this happens, none other than Bobby Saccenti would be put at the helm of this new high performance powerhouse. Now that's a man that knows how to build a boat!

Could it be true? What have you heard? Or was it just a dream?

Well, according to recent publications, the current owners of Cigarette are more interested in leveraging their brand than in building boats. And with their reported problems at their new facility, selling the boat part could be a prudent move. It's done all the time. Volkswagen bought Bentley, Bugatti and Lamborghini.

Lets just say I wouldn't start a rumor that had no merit. Of course things can fall apart at the last second but this seems to be on a warpath if you know what I mean.

i got an email from someone close to Apache. My take was they are exploring the idea of purchasing the entire operation, but it was only in the rumor stages.

As an Apache owner and a very personal and close friend of the cheif Saccentti himself, Apache is on a major comeback. With a boat built as tough as an Apache is, why would you even need or want to purchase Cigarrette? Not that the cig is a bad boat, but the new cig's are not like the old cig's built back in the 70's-80's. Apache is still a rock, solid non-distructable ride.

Kathy is doing fine. Still a little sore, espically when I take those 8-10 footers in the Apache! Look forward to seeing you in the near future. Working on a set of 750 h.p. motors. Need a little more crusing speed. When is the poker run you are speaking of? Let me know. Had a great time at smoke on the water. They had all us Apaches docked together. It was awesome. I thought I was the only guy on the planet who wasn't a fan of all the "Indian Themed" graphics on Apaches. You don't see a Marlboro and an ashtray on the side of every Cigarette, do you?
