Flame Arrestors

OK everyone. My boat is almost finished but one of the last things I have to buy are the flame arrestors and I need some opinions who o get them from and whether to go purple or stay polished billet. All of the pulleys, valve covers, etc are purple. Let me know what you all think!

Thanks,
Ryan

Ditto.......or powdercoated.

K&N has been a great sponsor of the One Design Series.

fountain525sc , we need pics to make such an important decision for you. :)

We need pics Ryan! I would use K&N and have them powder coated. Before you ask, I haven't yet installed the parts I bought from you. No extra $$$, works slow.

I would go with the K&N filter. Proven performance plus they look Cool!!

Flame Arrestors

Just finished doing that and I went with K&N but I got them thru CP in California, they offered the best deal.. I went with the polished but then the rest of my engine is polished..are your carbs purple also? Too much of one color may not be the Hot setup..Just my thought!!Know they will look good which ever way you go, best of luck..

I was running a 3"x8" Eddie Marine flame arrestor on my 461 - 470HP last year. I was told this was too small and just got my K&N Filter this week 6"x8". Will this really make any differance or is it more just eye candy (although I do like having an actual filter - it can't hurt). I'm running this on a 850 Holley.
