One's going on my Kryptonite, cum 525. Will tell if there are issues.

The issue with the bellows is from over trimming. There is no automatic trim limit on the ITS so it is possible to trim the drive out to trailer height. Easy to avoid if you know ahead of time. I have them on my 38 Powerquest and love the steering, the look and the extra couple of MPH from the stand off. I would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone.:D

Quest for Speed, what power are you running, and how many hours are on your boat, thanks Jeff

Wardey 06-11-2003 02:41 PM

So what's the over trimming problem? Thanks, Wardey

No problems here. The stand off does help the performance of the boat.

I don't think it's necessarily an overtrimming problem. Like Quest for Speed said, there is no trim limiter with the ITS. I could be wrong, but I think this is true for all merc HP gimbals. There is only one switch to raise/lower the drive and no auto limiter. Since there is no automatic limit on the trim, it is possible to continue raising the drive to the point where it is overtrimmed.

It's really not a problem if you have a trim indicator and watch it so that the drive is not trimmed out too far while running.

Jassman, I am running 500 efi's and have 32 hours on the engines and drives. So far so good.
