Default Merc I.T.S. Drives...

Anyone ran one of these yet. It's a pretty clean set up. We are looking at one of these setups for the new 29' Open Extreme. HP500/ITS/Sportmaster. Wardey

I recently heard that to do any maintenance on the steering you had to pull the motor.
Im not sure if thats true or not.
They are nice and clean looking though.

I have the ITS on my boat and have not had any issues. The boat is a 2002 29' Shockwave that is a year old with just over 100 hrs.

No problems here at 60 hrs. Very clean on the transom. Full hydraulic to the helm steering works well.

That does not sound good! Can anyone confirm? If true, I'd avoid it like the plague - my boating time is limited enough! No need to pull motors to mess with regular maintenance!

I do not know a lot about the issues. I just know what was said here on the board. The Sonic owner is going thru drive bellows; as supposedly he is trimming it to far. Overall, I have seen they are the hot ticket!
