Default New guy needs some info.

First of all, I've been kinda watching this board for a couple of weeks after some friends of mine from Lake Monroe turned me on to it.
Right now I have a 34 Wellcraft cruiser but I am looking at a used American Offshore. It's a 31 foot, 2001 model with twin 600's. Low time boat, seems to have a fair fit and finish and fast. Anybody know about the company?
Thanks
P Murphy

Indyboater,

I believe that American Offshore is a derivative of the Chris Cat. I don't know if they are still building or not but the website for American Offshore is still up and was apparently just updated a few days ago. Here is the link to it For info on the company try emailing Scott Hutchinson who is FASTCATS here on OSO.

Oh BTW, welcome to the board!

Well, I don't know this Scott guy. The web site is working. The little - between the words was why I couldn't find it. I'll give them a call on Friday.
Thanks for your help.

A friend of mine owns a 31 ao, with 502's and prochargers, it is a solid boat. and pretty fast. ther are derived from the 30 ft chris cat. As for the companies stablity, unless the boat is under warranty i wouldnt put that in the purchase, have it surveyed.
