Re: 36' Skater with Sterling 1000's..
This boat is impressive and will definitely do 140+. We ran with Dan at the Texoma Poker Run last year and it looks great at about 120+ but then we fell behind.

I also saw it at grand lake last year, it is beautiful and hauls serious ass. Someday for me....

Re: 36' Skater with Sterling 1000's..
I can't believe this post is back on top after a year:eek: We ended up getting another V-bottom for ride quality. I sold it a few weeks ago because I still had a desire for a cat and would love a Skater. I still like the 36' at Bullocks but I am quite shocked that the boat is still available. Any ideas as to why?

Re: 36' Skater with Sterling 1000's..
I think the real reason why it has not sold is that the owner wasn't really anxious to get rid of it. It doesn't seem that he is like most everyone else who needs to get rid of their existing boat before moving on to the next. Also the market is very soft and has been getting softer since early last year. Oh, one other thing, I don't think the hikes in insurance for cats has helped. This boat is pristine though!

How much difference in insurance for Cat from a Vee? I was told alot depends on the area you boat in:confused:

Who needs canopy's on a 36 pleasure Skater? These wind flaps ended up in this position at the speed indicated. And you get a cabin too!

Re: 36' Skater with Sterling 1000's..
like you've been hearing so far... if you can afford it, go with the skater... if your budget is more like mine, i'd go with the eliminator. they haven't been doing it for long, but they have built boats vacuum bagged w/ epoxy resin/karbon fiber/kevlar which is pretty close to how a skater is built, which makes them very light yet very strong and capable of very high speeds for a fraction of the cost of a skater... and they do have the nice cabin...

Re: 36' Skater with Sterling 1000's..
With Regard to the "Pam Anderson" Skater. Dan and Jan just moved in a Condo at LOTO. Summer Place at the 35mm. I had the only cat on the dock for 2+ years, until he just moved in. I have met him once, and he seems like a really cool guy, and the boat is absolutely beautiful in person. I have a awesome view of it from my deck!!
Next time I see him I will offer him some $$ for gas and help him clean it up, for a ride, and hopefully find out what 150mph feels like. |

Baja Daddy,
I currently have a 36' Skater w/1/4 canopies, 525EFI's and #6 Drives, dialed in and ready to go 115 mph on the GPS. No problems with insurance because of the HP. Send me an e-mail at [email protected] if interested. |
