36' Skater with Sterling 1000's..

http://www.bullockmarine.com/boat_li..._36/index.html

You guys have to see the deck on this boat;) It looks like Pamela Anderson:p

How much would a boat like this cost? How fast should it go?

I have never owned a Cat but I am at a crossroads now...My boss has a 37' OL that is an awesome boat but I am between a 36' Survivor, Skater, or Eliminator...What would you choose?

This guy seems to always have the coolest $h!+:D :D

liquid asset 06-22-2003 06:30 PM

My guess would be 140 + , about 400,000

dreamboater 06-22-2003 07:02 PM

My Guess would be 125 to 130, and cost 550,000 - 600,00

Madcow 06-22-2003 09:18 PM

Wheres her other foot?

mmwalters 06-22-2003 09:21 PM

My guess would be closer to 150mph. Maybe tom cat36 will post on this subject, Jean??

cuda 06-22-2003 09:34 PM

I'd say around 140 and half mil+. In the poll. if money is not the question, there's no doubt it's gotta be a Skater.

baja_daddy 06-22-2003 09:53 PM

I had no idea that Skaters were that much$$$. My budget is under $250k. Is there any Skaters out there in my range??

cuda 06-22-2003 11:10 PM

Check out some 36 Spectres, seriouosly sweet boats that will get you where you need to go.

Tbonepmp 06-23-2003 01:54 AM

I inquired about the 2003 36' Skater at Bullock about a month ago. Beautiful boat, truly one of the most kick-azz 36's I have seen. Yes, that is Pamela Anderson on the deck. Probably cost you somewhere around $500,000 to build a 36' this detailed, but it depends greatly on how crazy you want to get with power, paint, etc..etc...

BTW, Baja Daddy... If you are interested in a Skater pm me.

Shane 06-23-2003 07:32 AM

You gotta go Skater if it is in the budget! Tbonepmp hit the nail right on the head. A 32 Skater with a little more mild power should be well within your range. Keep us posted!:)

Ryan Beckley 06-23-2003 08:20 AM

There is a 36 Skater with #6 Drives and 500's in the classifieds. This boat will run 115 all day every day and won't let you down. The motors are stock sealed 500s so if you pepped em up alittle you get up in the speeds, but at 115 you are going to smoke 90% of the boats out there. It is within your budget.

shawn 06-23-2003 10:35 AM

Make sure that any cat you buy has canopies, it will make owning it a lot more fun.

36 Tom Cat 06-23-2003 12:38 PM

baja daddy: A 36' Skater with twin 1000s should run 150 mph. If I were you, I would increase my budget and go with the Skater. In fact, that is exactly what I did & I couldn't be happier. Interest rates are low, just make the payment. I would also advise you not to get the pleasure deck, you will definitely want canopies.

Hi Mike: Even though the weather was not great, Jim & I boated Sat & Sun. Maybe we'll see you Canal Day.

Jean

Sydwayz 06-23-2003 12:43 PM

For those of you that have not had a chance to see Jean and Jim's 36 Skater, it is the shiznit!! I had the pleasure of watching them blow by me many times on a Poker Run last year, happily trotting along at 130+. :D :D

Mad Hatter 06-23-2003 04:31 PM

That thing looks slow, I could beat it in a paddle boat.

Hi Brian: How ya been? Let me know if you are planning any trips to the upper Bay.

Cash Bar 06-24-2003 04:32 PM

I'm thinkin' 150 for sure. I rode in a 36' canopied Skater last week. It only had 600's and we hit 128 gps on average water here on Lake Lanier. I could've been doin' a crossword puzzle at 125 it was so smoothe.

If I wanted a boat with no use except speed, I would not look anywhere but at Skater. Of course I'd have to live in it and have no car, girlfriend or food.

Greg

KiloKat 06-24-2003 05:06 PM

I'll bet mid 140's if everything is setup properly.

Philip 06-24-2003 08:31 PM

Kilokat says mid 140's

Hi David, mid 140's that is good enough for me. when Kilokat speaks about 36' Skaters he is the man.

Steve and Jake Schulte painted the pamela anderson 36' foot skater . Her other foot is behind her left leg! The artistic term is called "foreshortening". She don't make the boat go faster, however we couldn't care less we just like painting the damn things! S2 Imagineering S2 Imagineering

36' Skater engine/speed combos

3 X Mercury 300 Outboards 103-105 mph
2 XMercury HP500EFI Bravo One stern drives 94-101 mph
2 X Mercury HP575SC Bravo One stern drives 105-110 mph
2 X Mercury HP500EFI Dry Sump Six stern drives 96-103 mph
2 X Mercury HP575SCi Dry Sump Six stern drives 105-110 mph
2 X Sterling HP825 Dry Sump Six stern drives 125-130 mph
2 X Mercury HP1050 Dry Sump Six stern drives 145+ mph
2 X Sterling HP1150 Dry Sump Six stern drives 155+ mph
2 X Sterling 1,300 Dry Sump Six stern drives 170+ mph

T-800 to 1000 HP puts this boat near 150 MPH.

Even T-525 EFI's would bring it to around 105 MPH I would be happy with that. Very happy with that!

Insurance is high but that office on Lake Lansing Road in Michigan would be fine if it had T-525' s. It's anything over 110-120 MPH that really increases the stakes. Deductible would be $ 5,000. About 10k/yr with a perfect driving record.

Skater can't build them fast enough either!

WOW That's a mean looking ride. Not sure if I'd want a boat that fast though.

I'm not sure why it says New. They called it "Pammy" and I have seen it in a few poker runs unless there is a twin to this boat. It does run very well.

I voted eliminator because i like having a cabin and the eliminator has a nice cabin for a cat. They are very well built boats. But if money was no object and i wanted to go 150 plus i would have to go skater.

Re: 36' Skater with Sterling 1000's..

36 eliminator - canopies, 112 mph on 525's with bravos. and a nice cabin almost within your price range NEW.
36 skater - canopies, 110mph with 575's and bravos, no cabin, better quality? stronger? resale? a 2000 should be in your price range.
36 pantera - what is it even doing in this poll? slow (campared to cats) and youll be lucky to get it within a year of the delivery date.
I've been in a 28 eliminator at 98mph. great smoothe ride. took 2 ft wake like nothing. i can only image the 36 was better. the skater looks like it has more freeboard and may be better in the rough stuff. I would love to ride in both back to back to compare.

My vote would be a 39 MTI but there are none available even close to 250k.

36 Skater with 500 EFIs, #6s in race trim (read APBA HEAVY) runs 110. With Bravos it's much faster. In big water there is no other cat under 40' that will stay with the 36, PERIOD. If you want to boat day in and day out with minimal maint then I would do 600s with #6s. It's a package you'll never break and you'll out run most every boat out there.

I got to look at the Skater up close and It is nice as it gets. The two guys were from colorado and pulled it down for the Grand Lake Poker Run. The Guy driving said they got up to 128 and still had throttle. I think they were new to the boat.
