I like it. The GTO is the same car as the Holden Monaro. Its made in Australia and the car is supposedly very popular over there. I like the fact that it has the LS1 in it too. Its time they bring back a RWD v8 powered sport sedan/coupe.

check out the similarities. I think that they are even made in Australia and imported to the US.

I've got a 67 GTO all original all stock, and my stock 97 Z28 would walk a dog on it. I love the old goats as much as anyone, but it wouldn't take much to get that new GTO running 12s. A guy in my office building just bought a new GTO, and it's definitely not as cool or flashy as I thought it be. my .02

Jan,
My Judge runs 12.80's as you see it.

I agree the 73 & 74 GTO were the demise of the car that earned the name & respect. My point was they could have done more to the 04 car to resemble it's former self. That hood is flat, the exhaust is on only one side, etc.
I bought a 30th Anniversary T/A new & the Ram Air Hood set the car off.

Retro is in & if you look at the 05 Mustang, at least Ford seems to get it.
I am just disapointed.

PurePower, I agree that it needs more Attitude.

I myself love spoilers/airdams/airvents... I have owned a 70 Trans Am, a 78 and 2 84 H.O. 5spd T/A's. I just think a rear wheel drive, ls1 and 6spd is a start of a great package for a new car from GM.

I agree, hopefully they will build on it.
My good friend Brad Barrie who is a graphic artist drew up a picture of what he thought the new GTO should look like, based on the key features of the great Pontiac Muscle Cars of the past.
Brad sent this photo to several GTO internet sites to get recognized. It actually made all the Pontiac magazines, got recognized by the brass at Pontiac Motor Division & made Motor Trend magazine 2 months ago.
He gets it.....

I like it, very cool. If the new Mustang takes off, Pontiac will have to improve to compete.

Default New Z06

The new 2005 C6 corvette will have 400hp (standard) and the new 2005 Z06 will have 500hp. Just in time for the FORD slaughter
