Mufflers

Bad Habit:

I tried the Shotguns in every possible setting. I understand clearly how the adjustments work. I am in no way slamming the Shotguns. The are among the nicest looking pieces made and they fit perfectly and appear to be durable.

My personal experience is that they just simply will not quiet the noise adequately to avoid a ticket in the area where I boat. I have talked with boaters and engine bulilders in other areas and they have told me the exact same thing.

Again, a very nice piece, but they did not make nearly enough decibel cut in my application.

We do have pictures on OSO in the Classified section. Give me a call and I can fax you the dimensions of our system.

Drew makes a nice piece, but as I have been reading through some of the posts about Drew Marine I keep reading how people have been replacing parts on his system. The one thing to keep in mind with our system is that we don't have any moving parts to break . Once they are installed you are done.

I DON'T NEED NO STINKING MUFFFLERSS!!
Well I don't want any, but unfortunetly the Swamp Swimming, Tree Hugging elitist are getting thier way on to many waterways!!
I went with the Drew Marine Shotguns. They quited my motor, a 502/550hp running thru almost dry Lightning headers.
The problem here is people just don't understand, nor appreciate the music of a fine tuned BBC singing out at 5000+ RPM!

Reveived my HPI clamp-ons today. Look very nice. No moving parts whatsoever. Through the length of 4" muffler, there is a 2.5" wide open pipe. That pipe is surrounded by a metal spiral. Most exhaust exits straight through the pipe, some through the spiral. That's probably where the muffling takes place. I have no idea how it works, but from the looks of it I can see no serious exhaust obstruction. Next week, they will go on the boat with a very loud HP525. Will report when having results.

I have been using the HPI for a month and they are great, no more moving parts that can break.
Thanks Dan (HPI) for a good product

Dr.Santiago,
What HP engines do you have and did you notice any max rpm change after the install. If so, how much?

Thanks,
Rick
