I recieved some pics from Donzi on my new 38ZX. Josh Stickles has been great to work with. He sends me photos on a weekly basis to keep me updated. Now that's customer service. The first photos are the hull as it came out of the mold.

If anybody is considering a Donzi, I can only tell you that Steve Simon and the group has been awesome! Steve has worked very hard to get me into a new boat and I'm really grateful. Next is the boat inside getting marked up for the ITS/XR/Sportmaster lowers

Cool pics! Congrats on the boat.

I love the ZR. We met Steve last year at a Sarasota poker run. He had either the first or second ZR with him there.

Good luck with the new boat.

Jassman 06-29-2003 07:47 AM

You're one lucky guy! Keep the updates coming.

Macklin 06-29-2003 08:29 AM

That boat is going to be one hell of an addition to the HRPA. Can't wait to see her in action!

audacity 06-29-2003 12:08 PM

Vyper340 07-01-2003 06:18 AM

Looks good but also a much tighter fit than I remember. It will be challenge keeping that bilge clean but that's all part of the fun of new boat ownership. Looks like it might only be 3-4 weeks now!! Can't wait to see Ms. Nauti in person!

DONZIMAN2 07-03-2003 08:46 PM

Cannot wait. Looks great. DITTO on the Donzi Group. They are the best.

BryanTuvell 07-03-2003 11:04 PM

Smiling! :) Damn Donzi's....... LOL
You lead, I will follow Donzi God of the HRPA, pray for Small Craft Advisory Warnings at delivery! They are the best for ROCK'n!!!!

CONGRATS again Greg and Kari, we are happy for you both.

Bryan

Like the red hull and transom. Hopefully it's here in time for the poker run August 1st & 2nd......New boats are always great fun to have around....:D

GLH 07-05-2003 05:34 AM

Nice rig coming Congradutions.

BillR 07-05-2003 07:13 AM

Oh, the next few weeks are gonna be so looooooog.

Magicfloat 07-05-2003 09:42 AM

That is a 38ZX, a different boat than the ZR,but a great ride, lots of amenities, wide beam, a super cool boat. Congratulations.

Nauti-Props 07-05-2003 09:56 AM

Thanks MagicFloat, I think TooOld needs some new glasses. It is a 38 ZX but it does have the same notch as the ZR. Steve Simon was raving about the improvement this boat has over the non-notched transom. These next few weeks are going to kill me.

Nauti-Props 07-08-2003 08:40 PM

No pictures in a week, so Donziman2 and i are going to the factory tomorrow to take them ourselves. The boat is scheduled for delivery on 31 July. The top is supposed to be put on Thursday while we are there. I'll post pictures Friday.

BryanTuvell 07-08-2003 08:56 PM

Greg,
Tell Steve Simon if she don't run 81.105265 GPS you wan't a kickback $$$, Ms Molly knows if she don't, us Donzi boys will have to find a new bar on Friday nights!

Have fun and be safe Greg, we are "almost" as excited as you and the wife. CONGRATS! HRPA needs another Donzi!

Oh, and I have traveled with Bob, he does NOT drive, period, especially rental cars, he will ask you to get the gas!
And he will also steal your peanuts if you fall asleep on the plane! :)

Bryan

[waiting on pictures! :) ]
Oh, and a possible XL T-shirt.

Nauti-Props 07-10-2003 07:04 PM

Donziman2 and I went to the Donzi factory today and what a visit. Steve and Josh were great hosts. Steve spent 3 hours with us and Josh spent another hour. We saw everything....from the mold to the fabric shop, the wood shop and the assembly line. My boat is almost done. The top is on and the boys were glassing it in. It looks great. I encourage anyone with an interest in Donzi to go to the factory. We saw their new 38 ZF...what a boat. It is the best fishing boat I have ever seen in that size. It was beautiful. Donzi has a bunch of new tricks up their sleeve...but I can't say what they are...I am bound to secrecy. All I can say is watch out cigarette. Reality is gonna suck in the next few years! I will post pics when I get home.

Pete B 07-10-2003 09:29 PM

Nauti,
Seen your boat last week, very nice! the donzi plant is a must see if in sarasota.

Nauti-Props 07-11-2003 05:18 AM

I don't have any good pics..but Steve said they would have a bunch on the Donzi web site when they upgrade it in a few weeks. I forgot to mention that donzi is also going to debut a new boat that has old Aronow routes at the dealer meeting this month...Steve is really developing Donzi back its natural heritage. Fast boats that can handle well in any water. You will be shocked at what he is developing.

BryanTuvell 07-11-2003 05:44 AM

I bet it is a 30 or close to 30 footer, on a ZR hull...
We'll get Bob drunk, he will tell....

When do you guys return?
Bryan

Be nice if the 26 or 27 Classic becomes a reality :D

Magicfloat 07-11-2003 08:55 PM

The new boat is not a new boat, it is an old boat. The 2004 Donzi 22 Classic 40th Anniversary Edition, one color only,Yellow,it will be drop dead gorgeous and in my boathouse and for sale in about 2 weeks after the dealer meeting

BryanTuvell 07-11-2003 10:19 PM

Magicfloat:
I am hearing many conflicting stories on several items,
from clothing to new boat sizes.
Keep us posted MFloat. Did you ever sell the ZR you had or do you still have it?

GREG: Great time at the pub tonight, your 38ZX is one nice rig!!
The factory video was awesome!
We are ready to ride when the invite comes.
Great seeing you and Kari tonight...
Thanks, and CONGRATS!

So what will the new 38ZX DONZI be named?

Bryan :)
