West Michigan Labor Day weekend?
 

I know its only the 4th and all but when Marc posted the boat races it got me thinking. any interest in a OSO get together say at Great Lakes Marina? We could do a Pig Roast or something....if I get some positive responces before the weekend I'll talk to the management to see if we can use the facilities. Well what do you think????

we will be down for the race that weekend, getting a room in grand haven or somewhere from sat night thru mon, my life is a bore from shore. but at least i might hear some action. lol

Sounds good. I have a slip reserved at Great Lakes Marina, in Muskegon, for the races. Any suggestions for Hotels nearby?

Dan that all depends on how much you want to pay....GH has all the chain hotels and you would be close to the pits alot of the racers stay at Spring Lake Holiday Inn. I would hit the chamber of commerce web page.

I'm in, I did there poker run a couple year ago and the place was great. I know a couple of people that have in and out there and love it. We are going to be in Grand Haven for the races anyway. Would be fun to go to Great Lakes would go to Dockers or Bear lake if you can get in there for dinner anyway. Ask about slips for the night. Maybe Saturday and Sunday sounds like alot of fun.

Dyno, yes I am a new guy in the world of Offshoreonly. Never knew how much fun I could have talking about boating on the computer. No I don't know you but we can fix that fast. I have been a boater for only a couple of years now. But have met alot of fun guys in Grand Haven. Thats the place we do most of our boating. I would say about 90% in Grand Haven, but we somtimes go to Hardy 1 or 2 times a year. We get board there running up and down the river. The guys that have Checkmates, I know pretty well.

I'm trailering up early on Friday. I'm only staying till Sunday night. I need to work Monday!:mad: I can't chance the lake changing and being stuck there an extra day.

I plan on being over in GH by Thursday afternoon. The rest of Team Hyperactive will be there sometime Friday.
I will be trailering my personal boat since I plan on making it a mini vacation. I will be flying solo since the little woman and I parted company so I will be looking for someone to hang with Friday , part of Saturday and Monday.
I hope to get a slip at the public marina in GH . Just stumbling distance from the bars !:D

We'll be at GLM, probably hanging out close to Tom and Linda Swanson's 12-meter Fountain. Its free if we raft off him, right?

We've got a slip reserved at Grand Isle Marina for Sat and Sunday. But if we can we will try to come up Thursday and get a slip at the Grand Haven Muni.
We've got some family coming with us bringing another boat also. We've got 4 rooms reserved about a mile from the marina.

I will probably put in at the Muskegon Fisherman's launch site that weekend and hang out around Muskegon and jet down to G.H. for the races. I can't totally speak for these guys, but I'm quite sure Steve Rampage and Doug Adreniline will probably be around for the races that weekend too. :)

Yes Dave you are right, but Dandy Dyno Don needs to clarify his plans on this forum for others to see----only because he's the one who originated this thread. I mean it's not like we have to have him around for us to have a good time during the Labor Day Race, but he's the one who started this thread and has everyone's ear bent his way. Alright so whats the deal? No picnic? No that it would break my heart er anything I just want to have a set plan. We ought to determine a meeting place for before the race.

My dad is hoping to have his boat ready for the race if all goes well with N&D and the R&R process. Hoping on just a couple burned valves.

We also ought to start a list of people that are going to be out there and want to meet up.

Dyno did start the thread back at 4th of July, and if he and the wife decide to go to Grand Traverse I guess I can understand the change. It IS beautiful up there, and the leaves might even be changing color.

Wish that i could be in two places at once but after the rain soaked week I had last week up north the wife wants to give it one more try before the weather goes to crap. So I guess I'm heading to TC the Friday of Laborday weekend I'll be around here this week Fred! I start 12 hour days tomarrow for the next two weeks so I'm going to try to get the boat back out to the rack tonight or Saturday am. And Mark I know you love me man!!!!

and by the way you guys are more than welcome to head north with us we are leaving after work on thursday if I can find a dog sitter....SuperV is going also.
