Also, I've been warned that my little 24' Pantera is too small for LOTO on the shootout weekend. Is it really that bad out there? Never been to the Shootout, looking forward to it and meeting some of you OSO addicts!!!
I seem to do OK in my 26' Scarab. Not saying it's the preferred choice, but it's not that bad IMO. Waterfoul does it in his Baja.

Actually, its not bad at all EXCEPT right when the runs are over for the day. It gets real nasty for about an hour on both ends of the course. You'll be fine. I've done it several times in a 24 Outlaw and never had any problems.

I actually had FUN running from our spot on the course over to Backwater Jacks last year. KC Hotboat was right in front of me in his 24 HTM....passed him just about at the entrance to the BWJ's cove and we both started launching off the swells on the way in. What a RIOT!!. But then again, I LIVE for rough water. I think the worst area for rough water is from the point where you make the turn at Lazy Days to the point where you enter Party Cove. Curving and crossing wakes everywhere. This is where you hear about boats sinking.
