IF YOU DON'T WANT TO TAKE THE BOAT TO HIM WHY DON'T YOU TAKE THE MOTOR TO HIM AND LET HIM FIX IT AND DYNO IT LIKE YOU WANTED? AGREE ON A REASONABLE TIME TO DO THE JOB AND TRY TO WORK THINGS OUT. SOMETIMES TEMPERS GET IN THE WAY OF RESOLVING THE PROBLEM!

MovinOn 07-17-2003 03:47 PM

Ummm thank's now don't expect the Empty bucket to be back soon. just cause bunch us eatin outta it..

CHAOS REIGNS 07-17-2003 03:52 PM

well if i pull the motor out that will cost me X dollars -- the current repairs are relatively simple and can be done with the motor in the boat.

i'd then have to have the motor reinstalled -- more dollars

and this thread is not about getting my current problem fixed -- its about letting everyone know my own personal experience -- you can then judge for yourself if you wish to have any work done by them.

i cannot stress enough how many times i was told a certain thing -- to have it not come true -- its just freaking unreal.

i would never have started this thread -- if i had any intentions of power marine doing any more work on my boat.

This is simply freedom of speech letting everyone be aware of my situation.

SLINGSHOT 07-17-2003 03:52 PM

if anyone sees blown 1500 wil fix it but without the oppurtunity how can he.........people screw up and hes willing to make good on it

CHAOS REIGNS 07-17-2003 03:52 PM

and if i might

can i have my popcorn salted lightly with butter??? might as well clog up some arteries!!!

:-)

CHAOS REIGNS 07-17-2003 03:55 PM

he had two opportunites this week alone

how many must i give him?? specially keeping in mind the trouble i had just getting my motor?

pb 07-17-2003 03:55 PM

mpejsa,

I certainly understand how upset you are for getting the run around for those months, however, is it really feasible for him to do the work at your location. Furthermore it is quite evident your trust of this individual is completely gone which really does not justify him doing the repair work...period. Furthermore, the back and forth jabbing on this thread between you and blown1500 is not helping matters in coming to some resolution.

My advice if you do not want blown1500 to touch your boat is to hire another builder to repair the motor and begin legal procedings to recupe monies spent to make it rite.

The continued contribution to this thread by you and blown1500 is futile.

Good luck

Just my .02

CHAOS REIGNS 07-17-2003 03:59 PM

done

and

done

but PB -- don't you think other people shoule be aware of my situation?

check my post history -- i don't post things like this -- it is not my normal MO

racer-x6 07-17-2003 04:00 PM

YA, BUT AT THIS POINT HOW CAN YOU BE SURE THE LOWER END IS RIGHT? AT LEAST IF YOU BRING IT BACK TO HIM AND HE PUTS IT ON THE DYNO AND STICKS A ROD OUT THE SIDE OF THE BLOCK HE CAN'T SAY THE YOUR OTHER SHOP DID SOMETHING TO CAUSE THIS.

blown1500 07-17-2003 04:06 PM

My last offer. Why won't you bring the boat? Are you afraid someone will steal it or sabotage it? You have an audience, you can't possibly think I would shoot myself in the foot by doing anything stupid wilth all these witnesses do you??????????????

birdog 07-17-2003 04:08 PM

Well.........I agree....The delays are inexcusable to me. If I did,nt stick very close to my promised dates i would be Out of Buss. !
It does seem to be the norm in the boat world....people just seem to accept it for some reason.
I do hope you two can work this out ! You both seem to be good guys {judging from past posts}

pb 07-17-2003 04:16 PM

mpejsa,
Absolutely we should be informed about these situations and I am not questioning or attacking the integrity of your previous posts in other threads.

You have informed us of the unfortunate events and I am sure many of us, if not all, are appreciative. Now that you have, re-direct you energy/efforts into finding a resolution to the problem and getting your boat back on the water.

I am going home.

Paul

DanB 07-17-2003 04:26 PM

If blown 1500 has built and dynoed this combo before there is no need to re dyno unless you change something or want to break it in and setup the carb.
6 months is an awful long time to build a motor. I do it start to finish in 2 max. And thats part time on my own stuff.
He says he can fix it in a day...make an appointment to bring it there at 7AM and plan on leaving with your boat that evening.
If he screws that up its on him.
If you go elsewere and something goes bad...its on you.

NEXT CASE!!!!!! :)

blown1500 07-17-2003 04:32 PM

THANK YOU DANB. Sounds good to me!! All I can do is offer!!

CHAOS REIGNS 07-17-2003 04:38 PM

you also offered to come up here this past tuesday -- why the new story?

I was just wondering who Bobby Daniels was on the Tech Q&A board. Lots and Lots of post from this guy and he seems to know is stuff.

However, I just learned that Bobby Daniels is not is name, it is actually Jack Bailey.

He uses all these screen names plus I was told he also uses cessna.

I was just wondering why a guy in the marine industry hides his name to boat lovers. Did not make any sense to me.

Sorry about your problems.

I hope everyone can get this worked out.

Keep us posted.

this explains how when i called there and asked for bobby, the person on the phone said they never heard of him:confused:

plus of the two new 502 merlin blocks he advertised, one was actually a 454 bore block that i found out just in time to cancel.

gave them a AMEX card to pay for the blocks and shipping, after two weeks of no motors, called them to ask where they were, and he said they do not take AMEX, and he never bothered to tell me??????????

glad i did not get more invovled with this place:eek:

JaayTeee 07-17-2003 04:57 PM

Blown 1500 has offered to fix it,
It's kind of his obligation to make it
right, I know tempers and emotions
may be getting the best of this,
but, you kind of have him in a "situation"
now, with this thread being posted,
I seriously doubt he would "step on his
pee pee" :D :D on taking care of this
rapidly.

as Robert has said !!!! BUCKETHEAD whats your name and number or is your real name buckhead, are you hiding ??At least I'm helping people on the board and they help me you are not a member and show few post so this would show that you only use this name stirstick to stir trouble ,
I am not blown 1500 ,cessna and my son is Ambusher ,so who's hiding these guys know me ,,again whats your name we can't wait so we can call and verify it . or is it not right to go as troutly or spectreman ect.
I 'm out of this post and back to reading post and as you said posting ,,,,, Bobby :D :D
good luck Mark And ROBERT

No, my real name is not bucket head. I do not know you and will never know you personally. I like many on here I have no reason to use my real names.

Unlike us with our made up screen names for fun, you use a REAL name "Bobby Daniels. But your name is NOT Bobby Daniels. I am not in the marine business like you are or claim to be.

Why would you want to be in the business, on a boat website and not want to use your real name?

Your real name is not Bobby Daniels, but you try to make people think it is. You even signed it above as "Bobby".

I would not take my boat back to you either. Dude, I would eat the lose and run like hell!

Thanks very much for sharing your bad experience. From what others have told me you are not alone.

bobby daniels 07-17-2003 05:19 PM

Hey Sabre which is it they never shipped it because you gave them a bad card or something and after 2 weeks you called and they would not ship ???? which is it ??? In any event they nor I did anything wrong and alot of people got blocks All your doing is tring to stir things up .I store 2 boats there and parts they know me ,duh ,,, so no one would have said bobby isn't here or anything ,,,they would have taken a message until the next time I came in period as I'm not there daily ,I still have blocks and even if all I had was a 454 mrlin 2 you just bore it alittle no big deal
People on here that have bought from me got their promised products ,I have nothing to do with this deal at all as has already been established ,lets let them work together and get their issue resolved ,

Still don't have bucketheads name hiding for sure !!!!

I agree (kind of).

It seems like Blown1500 is trying to make right in this situation. Unlike many shops that we hear complaints about, he has come on the board to respond to your claims and has offered to fix the problems. With everyone looking, the chances of him giving you less than 100% are greatly diminished. At this point, what can it hurt.

On the other hand, I WOULD like Blown1500 to give us an explanation of the delays, the misinformation ("I'll have it done in two weeks"), and the used parts. I am not singling him out for these practices, as they seem to be common in the Marine Industry. But, I would like to hear Blown1500's explanation.

X-Rated30 07-17-2003 05:27 PM

P.S.: BOBBY DANIELS -- I am a little curious about where the screen name "Bobby Daniels" comes from.

("Jack Daniels"), now that I would understand.

SABER28 07-17-2003 05:40 PM

took three calls to get someone who knew who bobby daniels was, maybe cause it's not your name?????

the person who i talked to said they took AMEX, then i found out latter they were not shipped because they did not take AMEX:confused:

who were these people who answered the phone no. you gave me then?????? they answered "power marine" on the phone.

yea, just bore it out a little, who does that for free?

why use a alias??? whats up with that???

bobby daniels 07-17-2003 05:51 PM

For the price of those blocks it would have been a deal at full cost
but the blocks are all larger than the 454 bore ,so it was the card I guess ?? Got to have the funds to get the parts shipped
Oh well good luck to you anyway :D sarbre or what is your real name ,I think we should all use our real names and a pen name

I can't say what I really want to say, but I'll ask this.

Is the customer always right ?

SPITFIRE 07-17-2003 05:55 PM

i smell a poof coming.... buddy of mine had a similar problem, NOT WITH BLOWN1500, not even in this state but to sum it up...same bullsh%t delays, used parts, and breakdown. ie lesson learned , engine guy got his money but paybacks are a b%tch. Its all in how you get restitution, anticipation is worse than the act itself. with all that rambled, can't we just get along and do as we're asked, contracted or even promised to do!!!!!

vagrant 07-17-2003 05:57 PM

Vagrant: Real name: David Ledford

H2Xmark 07-17-2003 06:00 PM

so a lot of people us a different name, no big deal to me, unless you are doing business with that person, as in something with money, then I would like to know there name, it also sounds like Blown1500 is trying to go above the call of duty on this, his bid on this engine job is to low, he has lost money on it, has been out to your house to work on the boat, and for 4000 dollars you got your money's worth, hell I would charge you more than that myself, If it was myself I would bring the boat to 1500's shop, give him 3 days to sort it out, he is trying to work with you, a lot of other people by now would tell you to go f$ck yourself, and I dont see the big deal on the pushrods either, hell I have had new ones break before, but he is telling you he will take care of it, you did say in the first post to take your time, well **** happens, i see it all the time, at least Blown 1500 is man enough to take care of it for you, even big time builders like Teague and Chief get behind on projects, and you have to put the big money jobs out front, thats what pays the bills, the 4 grand jobs are pocket change, and i'm not siding with anyone, its just something that happened so lets get over it and make it work

CHAOS REIGNS 07-17-2003 06:04 PM

Good Luck Mark..... we will keep the popcorn popping just in case

Call me. We will work with you. I cannot give you an exact time of completion as I have yet to see the motor. When I have time to check it, I can tell you how long. I WILL look at it as soon as you bring it. IL will do the best I can, but, again, I cannot work miracles-just try!!!!!!
It will be fast but right!!!:D

smart move.
get the emotions out of the way , get your motor right and move on. it would have cost you even more to go elsewhere at this point.

best of luck to both of you guys.

mpejsa,

Good Luck, Let's hope this all works out ! Way too short of a season to have this going on. This hobby can get you real upset quick with some of the issues in trying to keep high HP motors and drive-trains going.

I could tell a couple of bad ones, but I am just glad to be boating again.

:D

CHAOS REIGNS 07-17-2003 06:16 PM

so you want me to bring it first thing tomorrow morning? i can have it there by 7am if you like

MAG502NUM 07-17-2003 06:20 PM

MAG502NUM=Charles V. Miller. Bobby, ol' Lightning, Cessna, whats up with all the different screen names and always agreeing with yourself? You and Blown are bullies on this site with your sales agenda. If you don't sell it then its no good ,right? Chuck

Mark, just call me 704-574-4020

CHAOS REIGNS 07-17-2003 06:29 PM

i'd prefer to keep this in the public forum -- you tell me when you want it there -- and i'll do my best to get it there on time.

me or you talking on the phone is only going to cause more issue -- with the he said she said syndrome --

put it out here in the public eye -- and everyone will be on the same page.

GREAT NEWS GUYS :D :D OSO is the best !!
