Default Buyers Beware and Best Sellers Forums Needed

I got this idea from MAKDADDY in a post saying beware of somebody who he had a bad dealing with.

Anyway i have started the thread all you guys have to do is state your opinion and maybe if we get enough of us either bad or good the OSO gods will create these forums.

Its up to you now!

I agree there should be a forum where we can both praise and bash sellers and buyers so we can have a fair warning on these dealings. this way the General forum doesn't get all clogged up with these postings

Volunteers or experts on the board can make the decision, we need to form some type of voluntary committee and work with Jeff and Steve on this one.

Hotboat.net has an area called the Sandbar for gripes, to do just that keep the threads clean and focused.

I personally feel that sight is so so, this sight is the best and I am on the West Coast. Allways 2 to 3 hours behind the action.

But worth it!

It would be great to set-up an "e-Bay"-like system. I would like to see some way for us to rate and comment on different suppliers, manufacturers, shops and sellers.

Each member gets one vote and one comment. The seller gets a rating, 1-10 perhaps.

I agreee, but the threads should not be a free for all discussion or rambling. It should be a forum for direct parties to the situation to voice thier side. If they want to work it our and take care of business, do it in private and report the results if they desire.

Good points, Too Old.
The system would work, it would just be too time consuming on OSO's part.

The way I could see it being done is through manual verification of each and every rating--giving full name, ph#, etc with callback verification. It would be a big pain in the arss though.

It can be done in either PHP or VB7 ( microsoft.net) to provide controls and authentication. Mulptiple permission based checks and balances can be put in place. The bad part is someone can figure out a way around everything sooner or later.

I like the idea.......... a little. but, I'm wondering how often I woul;d check such a board. I go the the current afairs board very rarely. even the T&A unless I have a question about something, or I am bored on the main forum. If it's in the main forum the we can all get to see it. if it's boggus then people will say so or if no one cares it will soon fade away.

I recently saw a friend of mine get blasted, for a reason I couldn't believe. That one couldn't fade away fast enough for me. To have that one on a separate forum, even if was placed by a vindictive person, and have it take days, or even weeks to fade away, seems wrong, to me.
