1 Attachment(s)
30' Phantom TMP 850HP whipple, IMCO SC, Hydro 5 blade. This boat was purchased blank, and custom rigged at TMP. Boat ran 111 MPH this weekend at the Save our Lake Poker run in New Orleans. Its fun going by the cats in a 30' vee w/ a single.

I always like those Phantoms. Wonder why they are not as popular as some of the other manufacturers. You must be real happy with that outcome :D:D
Jon |
Thanks guys.
|
Beautiful boat. I wonder how tough it is to enter the cabin. DO you have to crawl in and if so is it a hassle, or do you just get used to it? Maybe it's just not the boat to buy if you want a cuddy. Sure is fast though.
|
The cabin isn't horrible, much like a warlock or a 26ft cat, but the speed and handling makes up for it.

totalamp,
thanks for the pics, i have a better idea now. for some reason i recall a pic of a 30 where the cabin door did not extend into the dash like on yours. its easier to see that entrance is not so tough as i thought. by any chance does that bolster lift out? |
Man what a boat! In 2001 I drove a 30 ft Canopied Phantom w/ a 700 hp engine - I can't imagine your beast with that big motor in it. That's got to be a blast - Congrats again! BH
|
or better yet? can the front bolsters be configured so you can walk thru?
|
Yeah, any of that can be done, we built this boat to chase the cats, so we wanted it as safe as possible, but the interior can be configured anyway you want.

Here's it's big brother.
|
Maybe next year, canopy and a quad rotor. The boat still isn't scary.
|
Cat, now the same boats run in Super Vee lite.
Phantom got delisted from the factory homologation list for a few years. His new Super V is the first new Phantom to see the APBA series in a while. |
Maybe not in F1, but I've never seen or built a single engine vee that handles better at 100+. This boat is at home at 110+, and with some more dialing in should easily see 115+, as we are only running 4 lbs of boost right now.
I've run this boat at 100MPH at 4800RPM for about fifteen miles, it is too easy to drive. |
Damn!

It sounds like you have hit the right combination. Will's boats are bulletproof and easy to drive. Keep us posted on where you end up with that beast.
I wish that I had not gone with the #5 after reading your post. |
Phantom 1, give me the specs on your boat. We almost went w/ the #5, but we do so much with IMCO, that we really wanted to help push the SC, and it has worked flawlessy.

sounds like thats the boat for me, what would one cost me
|
This one's for sale. 85K gets it as you see it, 65K w/ a 550HP.
|
where is it, and can you email me some pics, [email protected], i can't veiw the pics you have on here for some reason
|
he boat is in New Orleans at Total Marine and Performance. I will email some pics in the am.

Hey Total, Boat looks great with great numbers. Dave Warden
|
The boat runs great in the rough, and doesn't chine walk. We've run 100 in 3 footers. The boat held it own with some big cats in the rough this weekend. This boat is alot of fun.
|
Chine walk is not the proper terminology - I would call it the "Phantom Dance"! Just let her go and if she feels outta shape - burp the throttle. You Phantom guy's know what I mean. Will's 30 at 100 mph is an awesome ride! BH
|
totalmp,
Choice mill & Rig. Congrats. Be careful however a buck ten in any 30' V has the potential for another unfortunate local evening news story. |
What is the fastest one of these 30's has ever been GPS'd at? |

Is this a Phantom?
|
...yup!
|
We just finished a 34' Phantom as well. It was custom rigged w/ 2/550HP TMP engines and Bravo's. The boat was dialed in at over 90MPH, w/ stock Bravo props. It is a great rough water boat, and accelerates awesome. It also has a little better cabin than the 30.

TotalMP-
Please tell the whole story. I heard the only reason the boat went that fast was that the mullets were working on their tans and the boat was 'Mullet Hopping', not chine walking. See Hi-tech diagram below: .............................:frog: .................................... :fish:.... :fish:...... :fish:..... :fish:...... :fish:.... :fish: Bullfrog :frog: |
total mp, still intrested in that boat, i accidently deleted the info you sent me, what are you asking for the boat again.
|
Stephen is pretty busy and does not sign on too much lately, give him a call at his shop-985-649-9888
|
Not only did that Phantom holds it own that poker run against the cats, it walked all over my twinn 675 37 A.T. The accelaration was awesome, and midrange was even better. Whom ever wants to be thrown back in your seat when the throttles are down, This is the real deal:D
|
Speed-550hp
Just curious as to what it will run top speed with that 550Hp motor?
Thanks John |
I'm guessing 84 - 85 mph.
|
Re: 30' Phantom project 110MPH
Boat sold last year, I believe top end was at 113mph, it was a fun boat. :D
