It's a 74'.....I think. Guess I'm not sure on what you mean by 'deck that hangs over front'?
I'm going to go ahead a pull the sea strainers - I can't get to them anyway cause the engines are so tight and no-one runs them here on Grand Lake.
Thill, I think you know what I mean in saying its 'TIGHT'.
I can't imagine pull big-blocks out of these old 28's

I dont have any pics to post but mine is layed up a lot different, one the deck behind the bench there is a structural overhang that hangs over the pulleys and front of the motor making it impossible to lift them straight out

Cat, think I'm going with epoxy paint (bright white) on bottom and black something on walls. 'Post 18' shows a test spot on walls with just good spray enamal paint. I'm going to pick around on it tomarrow and see if it holds.

Rebar,
It's already lookin alot better with the wash down. You might consider doin the bravo conversion once you have it apart. You will have more room in the engine room to tinker without those big tranny's stuffed in there.
You can find places that will swap your old stuff and give you breaks on the prices for the new. I traded my trs drives, tranny's, a set of stelling headers, etc when I did mine.
The boat will ride 100% better with the Bravo's. It may help you on your resale too.
