that little thing......welcome to Florida. I see those all the time..although that is whopper. Wolf spider ..prob a South Carolina model , I think they are the biggest of the wolf family and may be the biggest spider native to the states.... They say they are burrowers. but I have never seen one on the ground...unless it's under my foot.

looks like the big ol furry dock spiders we get up here. 6 to 8 inc leg spans are about average for a full grown female. Not poisonous but BIG teeth leave a nasty mark.

Tbone, OK I was drunk at the time I saw it. 3:00AM at AQUA PIZZA a couple years ago.
I think the spiders ate the rats on the Aqua Pizza barge out there, that's how they got so large!

Gary, LOL i can relate to the spiders at Aqua Pizza! once walked though a web one must have cast across the walk way....i swear it was pulling me in!!! .....or maybe i was loosing my ballance at the time! either way i dont like big spiders!
