47 apache "the dealer"

What happened to the 47 apache called the dealer from everglades marina in the early 90's

bob 08-19-2003 10:32 PM

Was that the red 42 Fountain that they ran out of Everglades?

DirtyMoney 08-19-2003 10:48 PM

Before the fountain was the apache

The thread reads "47 Apache" not 42 Fountain.

bob 08-20-2003 06:03 AM

Thanks for the clarification Mr Cig Racer!

SLINGSHOT 08-20-2003 06:55 AM

I HAVE AN ARTICLE THAT I LAMINATED WHEN I WAS 13 IN 1991 ON THAT BOAT JUST FOUND IT LAST NIGHT.. IT WAS A BAD BOAT!

bob 08-20-2003 07:48 AM

Norval Stalley who was a principal in Everglades Marina had a Fountain called "The Dealer" which he used to bring to the races back in the early 90's or so. Stalley was a Fountain boat dealer, I didn't know he was an Apache dealer also.

I'm just sayin that he means the Apache "dealer" not the Fountain one. They were both at Everglades.

Scott 08-20-2003 08:02 AM

OK STOP
The Everglades Fountain "The Dealer" went to a guy that lives in the Akron Oh area and has new power and new paint this is NOT a guess or a assumption.
The boat looks and runs great it is now white with jagged red stripes.

Raypanic did (is) rebuilding a 47' that used to be called "EMPRESS"

Did I miss anything

WARPAINT 08-20-2003 08:22 AM

I have old pictures at home from 1989 at Evergalades marina.I am sure the first Dealer boat was an all red 38 top gun with thin gold stripes and gold dealer lettering down the sides. After that was the Fountain.I am pretty sure they never had an Apache named Dealer.Someone tell me i am correct?

Sydwayz 08-20-2003 08:26 AM

Thanks for the correction Scott!! It's early here!

Firewalker 08-20-2003 09:00 AM

I have pictures (somewhere) of a 47' Apache, in white with the DEALER in big red letters down the side and 3 red #6's sticking out the back........at Everglades, with INXS and Allez Vite in the background. I will try to find them.

Ike 08-20-2003 10:07 AM

The 47 apache "the dealer" is sitting in a barn in maryland in need of some work, engines and freshing up.

Warpaint I am really surprised that you did not know there was a dealer 47 apache. I am not sure if i can let you on my boat this sat after reading this.:( :o

Everglades marina was an apache dealer when Ralph owned it. Ike

DirtyMoney 08-20-2003 10:30 AM

If my memory is correct it was white with a red cockpit and 4 cards painted across the bow and embroidered in the cabin.

DirtyMoney 08-20-2003 10:35 AM

I also believe that INXS was a 47 apache at this time as well

rockstrmkr 08-20-2003 10:40 AM

There were two INXS Apaches...one 47 restored race boat
and the 41 owned by DanL

FeverFan 08-20-2003 10:50 AM

wannabe 08-20-2003 10:58 AM

Ike,

So who owns the 47' APACHE named "The Dealer"
and are they just going to let it sit there and rot?

It's a shame to let these gorgeous old machines age without giving them a home.

Wannabe

PS. Is it me or do FOUNTAIN and APACHE not look kind of the same... one starts with A the other F.

Mad Hatter 08-20-2003 11:32 AM

Didn't they use "The Dealer" Apache as a APBA pace boat at the worlds one year?

Ike 08-20-2003 11:58 AM

O.C.Barry 08-20-2003 12:01 PM

Warpaint is correct, it was Norville Staley's personal boat when he owned Everglades Marine with Ralph Martin. I was on that ('47 Apache) 'The Dealer' in the Keys, it was a pretty unique ride. He was kind enough to ride us back to Turnberry Isle when our boat broke a drive. It had a full cabin which is one of the few (or only) 47's that did. Norville was a neat guy, unfortunately, he's no longer with us but I can easily picture Norville driving with one hand and filming the other poker run boats with his videocam in the other. He and his wife had a blast on those boats, they put some serious hours on them. Yes, it was used as a paceboat somewhat, I have some video of it somewhere.

WARPAINT 08-20-2003 01:05 PM

Ok Ike you are correct.I was just making sure you were paying attention;) Who has a pic of the 47 Apache Dealer?

WickedWon 08-20-2003 01:23 PM

I believe "The Dealer" became Broken Arrow and is in Ft. Lauderdale along with two other 47's Pale Face( the old Tweet Revenge) and Kemosabe.

That red 47 Fountain is a rare CS model . . talk about limited (head) room in the cabin . . . ran mid to upper 70's with that power. . . . the performance report showed that Reggie got 80 out of it though.

26scarab 08-21-2003 05:49 PM

WickedWon,
Saw "Kemosabe" a couple of weekends ago gassing up on Lake St. Clair. Later that day when I was coming in it looked like it was sitting in the same covered well (on a hoist) that "Broken Arrow " did. I'm assuming the same owner. He also has a really nice 36 Skater too.
