Regarding the third engine, if a POD is not placed in the tunnel to block the water hitting the prop, they tend to be a drag on the boat. Also there were some issues if the center engine is not rigged properly, the prop wash disturbs the other two props effectiveness.

Wasn't Hawk Power a 36 Cobra that Manny Fernandez and John Tomilson raced way back then. That boat was terrible in the rough water.......

Our boat from about 62-72mph starts to hop. It doesnt seem to do it like are Spectre as a transition from hydro to aero lift. I think it does it because of the bottom. I have put the strait edge on it and it is not perfect, but it is not off even 1/8in. I think if I could keep the front up it would run really great. We really like the boat and it still cruises all day at 60mph. Thanks again... |

I rec'd your email. Thanks. I'm new to this website... sorry. I'll look to see, maybe I need to be gold or platinum. The Cobra I'm going to sea trial was set-up personally by Jim Ritchie. He claims it runs mid 80's. I just want to run to the Bahamas and fish the drop off's. I'll call later. Thanks. Kurt |
