Regarding the third engine, if a POD is not placed in the tunnel to block the water hitting the prop, they tend to be a drag on the boat. Also there were some issues if the center engine is not rigged properly, the prop wash disturbs the other two props effectiveness.

Good Luck !

Wasn't Hawk Power a 36 Cobra that Manny Fernandez and John Tomilson raced way back then. That boat was terrible in the rough water.......

I have also talked to Jim Richie who is as you said a great guy.
I also was able to get in touch with Peter , but still am in the same place. Our boat from about 62-72mph starts to hop. It doesnt seem to do it like are Spectre as a transition from hydro to aero lift. I think it does it because of the bottom. I have put the strait edge on it and it is not perfect, but it is not off even 1/8in. I think if I could keep the front up it would run really great. We really like the boat and it still cruises all day at 60mph.

Thanks again...
Just talked to Jim and his comments were that after he installed a center pod on the 36 it ran up into the 80's and it helped with the high water inside the tunnel.

Macvtt,
I rec'd your email. Thanks. I'm new to this website... sorry. I'll look to see, maybe I need to be gold or platinum.

The Cobra I'm going to sea trial was set-up personally by Jim Ritchie. He claims it runs mid 80's. I just want to run to the Bahamas and fish the drop off's. I'll call later. Thanks.
Kurt
