Dogs That Boat

I loved looking at the pictures of the Labs, but since I own Yorkies I thought I'd start a tread for all dogs, in fact make it animals of all sorts. Last week we saw a 6 foot snake and a few weeks before that a cat.

This is my little girl Murphy, sunbathing on the engine pads

Here's one of Murphy and Duffy on our old Scarab.
These guys are good boat dogs, they don't shed
or take up much room in the cabin, we do have to
watch that they don't become airborne

I got my Mother a Tea Cup Yorkie for Christmas, I never before cared for little dogs... but they are something else,,And have since changed my opinion of them .. what a character these things are.

Magicfloat 08-29-2003 08:33 PM

Wish Karen was home to post photos,I am too computer dumb. We took our pontoon out today,4 Labs and 1 Dingo. The Labs are laid back, the Dingo goes crazy when we get close to another boat. Guess she is looking for Mick Dundee.

Ms PatriYacht, we ran next to you last Saturday going out to Muscamoot, Checkmate with blue and yellow checkerd flag. We saw the snake also.......that was different.

Ms PatriYacht 08-29-2003 09:33 PM

nice looking boat, cute ****su (not sure of the spelling) Was that Walter I saw floating on a raft down the long line of boats. That was our first time at the moot, that was an experience. I had to borrow a raft so the pups would not get left behind. Wild place, we are checking it out again tomorrow.

R Addiction 08-29-2003 09:40 PM

You call them DOGS!!!!!??? Rats maybe.....;)

Here is my pup.........

R Addiction 08-29-2003 09:43 PM

Just kiddin', I used to have a Lhasa Alpso (sp).

My Golden doesn't go out on the boat. He sheds like a friggin' wildman and he likes to hang out at the house in the A/C anyway!!!:p

Ms PatriYacht 08-29-2003 09:49 PM

good thing I read your second post before I made my reply, Goldens are beautiful dogs in looks and personality and your's is sure pretty.

He does look like a rat when he is wet! I was always a fan of the big dogs and swore I would never own a dust mop dog. We used to puppy sit for Walter and he just stayed one day:rolleyes:
He's pretty studly for a little guy:cool:
No he has never made it to the moot, maybe someday.

Aw what the heck, I took this picture earlier this week and just wanted an excuse to post it.

They have the whole house to roam in, but they have to be right under my feet at the computer.

here is another one of Reggie, what a dog he was, he went everywhere, flew all over on business trips with me, went on countless boat trips, ski trips, hiking, he was up for everything. Unfortunately he thought he could take on the world, one morning getting ready to go to the marina he met up with a husky that thought the same thing, only weighed about 50lbs more. 12 years later we still miss him.
Here he is on the back of our very old scarab, giving dad a kiss

Crazyhorse 09-02-2003 08:43 AM

Our dog Pistol Pete hates water and boating but we make him go along with us anyway.
He does like to drink beer with the guys while we're hanging out on the dock though,,,,,

Glad to see a lot of us boat with smaller breeds, but don't hesitate to post the larger ones. Keep those pictures coming
Here is one with both sizes This is Laurie with her 100 lb plus lab, and Mr P with our 2 at Lonz winery (I miss that place) near Put In Bay.

Heres my buddy Jake doing what he does best. (see my avator)

Captainblondee 09-02-2003 10:25 PM

"Slightly Trashed" first mate is Puddles a Black & white Sheltie. When he realizes it's time to go to the boat he dances around in circles and makes this funny whining noise. He luv's riding on the boat, but can't swim.. His hair is so thick it makes him sink.

Captainblondee 09-02-2003 10:34 PM

oops forgot his picture!!!!
Puddles can't wait to get to the Casion Docks at Kelly's Island. Anyone who docks at the Casion is likely to meet Puddles as he makes his way around stealling all of the attention he can... It's comical watching him because he will go stand in front of people sideways waiting for them to reach down and pet him...or walk over to someone and lay down beside them..... He thinks he is King of the Dock.

Ms PatriYacht 09-03-2003 09:03 PM

Good one, should we change this thread to
"Dogs that Drink"
I know my Murphy likes to suck on beer cans, must be the Irish in her!

This is Chelsey (all dressed up for St. Patrick's Day last month) and she is seven. Not sure how she likes boating yet. We think she is jinxed. Last April we took her out on the Regal (29' Cruiser) and three days later, the boat sank in the slip at the marina. Two weeks ago we attempted to go out on the Fountain, got gas, and then she (not the dog) died getting up on plane. Limped in on the center engine. Got the port one running but after five hours, we gave up on the starboard. Found out that we had four gallons of water in our fuel tanks.

Is she cursed?? This summer will tell.

Mr. Demeanor 04-30-2004 11:37 AM

We hav a Golden Retriever that goes everywhere with us. We taught him to pee off the swim platform :D
I know that the "Wildhorses" who post here have a cat that goes out on the boat with them.
